I can't believe how well she was doing and then did not want to move for the surgery............why???????

Dating should not have been her priority.

Re: 600 lb life melissa spoiler

She really surprised me.  She seemed to express a sincere desire to change and get healthy, and then.............she had to stay in Florida for a new guy???   Really???

I hope she finds another doctor in Florida and makes the changes she needs.

Re: 600 lb life melissa spoiler

I know - right?  This show always breaks my heart because I am rooting for them and I really liked Melissa's commitment and thought she would do great.  Then, she refused to move to Texas.  It's only for 9 months to a year, I think, and she spent that much time trying to lose it all on her own in Florida.  She could have been over half way back to Florida, timewise, if she had followed the original plan.

So sad and I hope that she has managed to continue on her journey successfully.

The thing I see with this show and it really makes me mad. If you look at the entire family they are typically overweight. It's not just the person wanting weight loss surgery. It makes me sad to see the children so overweight and who will probably end up like the parent at over 500 lbs. They need more counseling and including the family. I saw a episode last night where the mother of the 2 brothers getting surgery  was mad because they didn't have any butter. And the meals were boring. Really! She was extremely overweight herself. Yes Melissa was frustrating that she would rather stay in FL and not get the surgery.

Re: 600 lb life melissa spoiler

Melissa was one of the few who really seemed determined to get her weight under control.  I was hoping to see significant changes before the end of the show.  I think two things kept her from moving to Houston.  First, she really did not know anyone and had no family.  Moving is difficult enough when you have either a family member or friend who will move with you, or your know someone in the area.  Second, she meets a guy.  He seemed very nice and wanting to help her, but maybe he only wanted to be on tv.  Who knows.  She did say at the end of the show that she would be back in Houston to see Dr. Now, so maybe this is not the last of hearing about her.

I, too, thought Melissa was going to make it.  Every time she spoke with Dr. Now, she spoke so positively that she was going to do better next time.  But each time she returned, she'd lost less weight than the last time.  Her commitment was not strong enough; her words said one thing but her actions said another.

l had to laugh when, every time Dr. Now asked how she was doing, she'd say, "that depends on you", lol.  Putting her feelings in his lap.

When she met that man, I thought he would be a re-enforcement to lose more weight.  He went with her to exercise...great.  Then, he seemed to turn into an enabler.  The meal I saw them eat on their date was definitely not a Dr. Now approved meal and the bf encouraged her to cook for him and to "put her foot into it" which is code for your best high fat meals, IMO.

I hope she makes it.  Slow weight loss is better than no weight loss or a weight gain.
