@ltko51 :  Totally agree. Maybe in the 50's. They really think we're stupid and it's insulting!

Re: polyester…

It's a real turnoff to me because it's not the truth.  Premium fabrics are still natural fabrics.

As with all fabrics, there is high grade and low grade, but high grade polyester is still not natural.

Polyester is used to save money.

Those who like it, though, will disagree, mainly because it is easy to take care of.

@ltko51   Do you have credentials that certify you as a textile expert?  Do you have information on the wholesale prices of all the different qualities poly and rayon fabrics?

I daresay there's not a person on this board who can say definitively whether what they say is true or not.

Sorry ....there is NO world where the words "premium" and "polyester" should be in the same sentence.

It can be nice. It can be value. It can be used for everything from napkins to wedding dresses...BUT....

It's plastic. Made from petroleum products.

"Polyester is a manufactured synthetic fiber. It is a kind of plastic and is usually derived from petroleum. Alternatives to oil-derived polyester exist, including those made from recycled plastic, agricultural crops, or even waste."

OK to wear, and to use, but I too don't think it's accurate to describe it as anything MORE than it is....recycled water bottles.

The hyperbole on QVC is out of control, but funny.

Just like the "special cows" from whence 21 dollar a pound hamburgers ar harvested, the magical "air frozen" 21 dollar a pound chicken breasts, the 65 dollar coffee cakes and the 100 dollar chicken parts, dusted in smoked paprika, for 35 dollars a pound for three pounds....free shipping!!!!

O... and don't forget Corky's premium lunch teevee dinner for only 15.00....contains 3 small ribs with a teaspoon of meat on each, in kechup sauce,, and a 1/4 cup of baked beans for a side. ....

Yes it IS a "rib dinner".......but, well, you know.... Hyperbole.

There are many grades of polyester and rayon.  I have felt and tried on poly and rayon at stores I wont name but are memtioned on the Forum.

There is no comparison of the grades in those B&M stores wth Isaac's or Susan Gravers poly and rayon. Big difference in the quality of the fabrics for sure.

Although I don't like the price increases at QVC but I certainly can see the reason for them; therefore, will continue my QVC buying.

Have you considered switching to decaf?

@Othereeeen   I think there are different grades of polyester.  I have had some that I would have sworn were silk.  BUT as someone who would never buy the overpriced food from any TV shopping channel, you made me laugh with your descriptions.  Thank you!

Polyester fibers take hundreds of years to decompose. As polyester breaks down, it releases toxic chemicals and greenhouse gases into the environment. Synthetic fabrics made of polyester destroy ecosystems and nature. They contribute to the high amount of clothing waste that ends up in landfills every year.

@ltko51

Why didn't you just say that in the first place as it appears THAT is your issue w/ poly.

QVC and retail vendors sell what sells...they aren't going to stop because of this thread.

When we all stop buying, then it might make a difference.
