I bought a duraflame heater several years ago from QVC.  I use it in the living room for extra heat.  It works great.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have a thermastat.  It is either on low or high or off.

It would be wonderful for it to come on when needed and shut off when temp. is room is reached.

That is a great idea but of course if they did that then the price would be a lot more and it would be one more thing that could go wrong and would need to be serviced. We have three of them and love them! But yes it would be great if they could adjust on their own.

Some of their older models do have thermostats, as I have at least one that does, and it is indeed nice to come off and on as needed.

Like most things Q brings us, they take a great product with great features, then cheapen it over time to keep the price point down and make more profit.

Give us a choice of the things made better like they originally were. You might be surprised how well they sell.

I PURCHASED A DURAFLAME HEARTER  FROM QVC 12-28-2016. IT HAS A THERMOSTAT , TEMPATURE SETTINGS FROM 62º - 82º, PLUS THE SETTINGS FOR THE AMOUNT OF AIR TO PUSH THE HEAT INTO THE ROOM :
FROM #  1 - 5,   5 BEING THE MOST FORCEFUL.

ITEM  V-34225 - RED COLOR - DURAFLAME HEATER INFARED QUARTZ STOVE HEATER WITH 3D- AND REMOTE CONTROL .
NO LONGER AVAILABLE THIS SEASON -NOV-1 2017.

I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL TO THE ONES WHO WERE TALKING ABOUT THESE HEATERS.

Respectively speaking, I won't use a heater without a thermostat.  Sometimes I 'doze off', and I wouldn't want an electric heater to be on all night long without 'resting' in-between.   Overheated wiring, etc.   Better (for me) to have a thermostat that will shut down/rest when it becomes too hot or above the setting that I set in on to begin with.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I will never buy a duraflame heater again.  I bought one a few years ago from qvc and ours caught on fire.  Thank goodness we were at home at the time.

Why would anyone ever leave a space heater on if they were NOT home?  Glad you were safe.
