@Kachina624 Maybe so but my CC gives me points and cash back that my debit card does not.

I don't understand why anyone would use a debit card. They offer none of the extended warranties, points, or cash back that most credit cards do. The bank will reimburse for fraud, but your funds are tied up until the claim is processed. No thanks! Our cards are paid off every couple of weeks so we never pay interest.

I agree with @Love to Run .  There are many benefits using a credit card as she stated.  My bank advises never to use a debit card pumping gas.

As far as carrying cards around, I carry medical insurance info, automobile isurance info, etc.  It's not about carrying around a bunch of credit cards.

I rarely pay anything with cash.

@Love to Run  You are mistaken. I posted above that I use it for groceries (I also get cash when I buy food) and my Rx's. MY bank covers anything untoward that could happen with my card: If it gets stolen and used (tho how they could without my PIN I don't know), hacked or lost, EVERYTHING is covered.

So don't make judgments without all the facts. Any other shopping at B&M or online is with CC only.

I would never use a debit card online and don't know why anyone would.

@Love my grandkids  -  You  may be covered for losses, but as @Love to Run  stated, you will have to wait for processing time to be reimbursed by the bank.  It won't happen overnight.  It has to be investigated before your money is returned.

I don't carry credit cards, only my debit.  I do carry medical cards, insurance & grocery cards which are numerous so I do use slots.

A debit card is linked to one's bank account while a credit card isn't. While banks might offer protections for their debit cards, fraudulent use of a credit card does not tamper with your bank balance, as far as I know. I do carry both and I do prefer a larger bag. The diverse replies to this thread just show the variety of bags and jackets of interest to us. No need to think that any one style fits us all.

As @stevieb said, fradulent use of a debit card will affect your checking account balance.

@Love my grandkids I never mentioned you in my reply to the OP, and I only stated facts. I don't care what your spending habits are.

Re: bags & jackets

[ Edited ]

Never have I used a debit card for any reason and don't have one.  I refuse them from my bank.  Just me but I like my CC, and they like me. Cat Very Happy

Sorry, I forgot this topic was about bags & jackets!  Been thinking about getting a new bag but I'm still using the second D&B Dooney nylon one I've bought after literally using the first till it was ratty, that's a long time.

For everyday - I use a "fanny pack" if my jacket doesn't have zip or snap pockets.

I have my cards in small metal business card cases and only take the cards I need with me at that particular time.
