It's not their money so they don't respect the cents.

I don't care for that term either. "And change" to me makes it seem like three or four cents, not ninety eight or ninety nine cents. To me that's another dollar. Lol a day or so ago I heard a host talk about a product and said that it wasn't supposed to be under $70. I can't remember if it was a OTO or not, but the price was $69.98. Sorry QVC, but that's still $70 to me (more like $80 with shipping and tax)

I think sometimes they can't read the monitor.

I also dislike when they say you can get it home for $12.00. Well, that is just for the first easy pay payment and they don't even say that doesn't include pro-rated tax and pro-rated shipping. HSN is bad about this too. (they add the tax and shipping to the first payment) They make it sound like the item is $12.00 when it could be $60. plus.

I know - that kills me too - they really think we are ""stupid"" - it's insulting - but we still keep ordering - or some of us do - me not so much for a long time!!

This "and change" phrase irritates me a lot. It would make some sense if the "change" was less than 50 cents, but it rarely is, and so the phrase seems deceptive and disingenuous. I realize that this is probably just a version of short-hand from people who talk and sell for a living, perhaps they believe that it sounds cool or hip (yes, these words are probably dating me a little), but it is a habit that could and should be broken.
