Just curious - why are there 2 hosts on many presentations? HSN only has 1 host per presentation and they seem to do just fine, no competition or talking over one another. I do notice hosts like Jane Treacy usually handles the shoe presentations by herself and many of the early morning clothing shows have 1 host (like Pat, Jayne, and Leah) but so many other shows have 2. I don't get it.

So what?

@Tomboy. QVC has obviously determined that having 2 hosts is most effective for many presentations. QVC has many more gross sales than HSN, so it must be working.
In case you're concerned, you are not charged extra for the bonus host. What a bargain!

I agree no need for 2 hosts and quite frankly not cost effective.
Typically, contracts are not usually based on how many 'airings' you have as a representative host.
They get paid their salary as agreed upon, so not costing QVC extra whether they appear or not.
Eliminating the host all together would be a cost savings.

@Miss Pepsi. How do you know? Do you have access to sales figures? Very presumptuous statement.

@RespectLife Which ultimately could be the long term game plan. Pushing more influencers and TikTok shopping, using social media types to hock their wares and possibly reducing hosts seems like an overall savings (to me) over time. No TV networks and all the licensing, production, etc. Strictly stream, the app and selling on social media.
Would not be the same, but Q could save those salaries that are oh so often discussed here and in other boards on the internet.

why bother to even answer like that when someone is asking a simple question?

Totally!
For me, I could live without the TV selling.
What I do like about QVC.com is the videos, models, multiple shots of the item...size charts, nutritional info...almost everything I need to know about my purchase.
I'd be happy w/ just online ordering if all of that was still available.

I'm sure you realize, these boards are for discussions between other posters.
We can only speculate....if you are looking for a real 'answer', it can't be provided by us.
Your question is rhetorical.
