It would make for a much more pleasant experience for those of us who are sincerely trying to work within the boundaries of the new format.

Thank you for your consideration.

Agreed!!! In the three years that I've been posting on the QVC forums, I've only chosen to use the ignore button on one occasion and, even then, only for a few months.

It wasn't a life or death issue for me. It just helped keep my forums experience more pleasant. -- Some people may want to use it more, and while others would never use it. So be it: live and let live.

I don't see the harm of having it around... any sometimes having that certain person on ignore may help to stop fur from flying. I think that's a good thing.

I know bebe and she is a super sweet poster and if she has had to resort to using the ignore button at times then it must have gotten bad!

I have never used the ignore button and don't plan to but I really hope they do bring it back for those that want it. I can completely understand the need for it, especially after seeing what has gone on around here the past few weeks and knowing that posters like bebe have had to resort to it at times.

I hope QVC can find it in their budget (lol) to include this feature, if possible, in the near furture.

The ignore button can be used to isolate from others, form cliques and control a public forum.  I agree, leave it to the moderators.

I'm not sure I understand how the ignore button figures so prominently into these things.  The ignore button only hides posts from yourself. Not the rest of the board, so I don't see that it promotes cliques in any particular way. Likewise, it cannot control the entire forum, because again, you only hide things from your own personal view.

I should think if you want to isolate yourself from a particular poster it affects only you and no one else.

Can you elaborate on your opinion?

Mystyrion,

On some forums that have the equivalent of a "Dislike" button (though it's not always called that), if enough people "downvote" a post it is hidden from easy view unless you specifically click on it to view it. This can effect what oceanbreeze referenced - but is completely irrelevant to *this* board, which does not have downvotes nor does it hide posts.

I didn't think there was any relevance to this board.

Re: We Would Like The Ignore Button Back

biancardi----I'm sorry, I don't know how to use the quote feature. I think that QVC doesn't have it in their current budget to bring back the ignore feature. The moderators are doing a good job keeping the board pleasant and notifying us about the new requirements.  That way we can all comply with the rules and maintain a civilized board here. Thank you.

In case you missed it there is an update on the ignore button issue at post #66 on the Update on the Ignore Button feature thread.

Re: We Would Like The Ignore Button Back

I have not read this entire conversation, but I can't imagine why people want the ignore feature.

The only time I saw it mentioned on the old forum was when someone posted that they were putting someone on ignore.  It seemed to me that people sure liked to announce when they were ignoring someone, which I find rather funny.

It seems like adults should be able to read or skip any post that they choose, without the ignore button.
