Re: We Would Like The Ignore Button Back

Obviously, we all haven't had the same experience.

Re: We Would Like The Ignore Button Back

the ignore button is needed here.  Some of you probably have not been dogged around the forum, but others have.

Bad experiences are that - bad experiences.  If I already know what a poster is like, why should I subject myself to that?

I've never been on a forum where we cannot ignore posters.  Q - bring it back.  This is now on the 4 week of your new boards and it is probably just something in a settings configuration that needs to be turned on.

Surely you don't mean you've been dogged on this new forum.  The mods have been doing an excellent job of keeping it friendly, from what I've seen.  Of course I'm not here much.

Am I to understand that some posters here are bothered by the mere presence of other posters...that anything they say would offend some posters?

Please...just move on from those posts and posters you don't like.  They have as much right to be here as you do."

How does any person having an ignore button violate your right to be here or in any way affect that right to be here?

Thank you for pointing that out. I have edited my post to delete the last sentence. And given you a heart for your post. :-)

We don't need an ignore button.

The moderators are doing a very good job.

The ignore button can be used to isolate from others, form cliques and control a public forum.  I agree, leave it to the moderators.

It would make for a much more pleasant experience for those of us who are sincerely trying to work within the boundaries of the new format.

Thank you for your consideration.

Agreed!!! In the three years that I've been posting on the QVC forums, I've only chosen to use the ignore button on one occasion and, even then, only for a few months.

It wasn't a life or death issue for me. It just helped keep my forums experience more pleasant. -- Some people may want to use it more, and while others would never use it. So be it: live and let live.

I don't see the harm of having it around... any sometimes having that certain person on ignore may help to stop fur from flying. I think that's a good thing.

[ Edited ]

My experience with the ignore button here in the past is it wasn't helpful.  Especially if someone knew you were ignoring someone...they would quote that person's posts just so you would see them.

Just scroll past those you don't want to see.

Easy peasy!  :-)

I personally liked the ignore button.  While most people I choose not to read posts I just scroll by, a couple need that ignore as they seem to be everywhere.

Now if I could convince people to quit quoting people I'm ignoring...LOL
