In some ways, this new format seems rather unsophisticated (obsolete?).  I wonder if QVC knew what they were getting into.  The previous format was infinitely better.  But that's OK, I am more productive with my time these days!  (Thanks for the update about "ignore".  I agree - "bummer").

It's very clunky.  For example, quoting and editing require more steps than in necessary.  Despite the addition of some nice features (of which the emoticons are defintely not one...) I have to agree the boards seem more labor intensive than they need to be.

Whatever QVC has done in this revamping has slowed my computer only on THIS site.  Consequently, I spend as little time here as I can.  Each click of my mouse results in a 10-15 second wait for the next screen to settle.  I'm assuming this slowness is due to whatever software QVC is using.  So whatever additional poop they add here will only slow things down more.

I'd rather see them do away with all the juvenile extras, and focus on streamlining and making the basic forum a better user experience.

Hi Everyone,

Many of you have requested the return of the Ignore button feature. This feature allowed you to select forum posters whose posts you did not wish to see. Everyone else could see their posts but you would no longer be able to view any of their activity.

Unfortunately the Ignore feature is not available in the new forums.

Your many requests have been elevated to the appropriate teams for consideration. If this feature is made available in the future we will be sure to allow for members to use it. However, I do not expect this feature to be available in 2015.

@Keyai since it seems as though the technology is probably available to create an Ignore Button feature, I'd really appreciate knowing why the appropriate teams have nixed this feature for now.

Please know I'm not trying to stir stuff up. I just find it easier to let stuff go when I understand the rational behind decisions that were made.

As I mentioned previously, I've really appreciated you helpful and proactive approach on this board.

Thank you, in advance, for considering my request.

Sentence reads better like this: "This feature allowed you to select forum posters whose posts you did not wish to see."   Your way is awkward.

How nasty and arrogant can you get?

Yes. It is so annoying how slowly the site reacts. It's like having old dial up.

I can't even see the expessions on the emoticons so, I don't use them. I'm back to these.   :-)   and  :-(

Hi @bebe777

If the feature was available we would have made it available at the start. I am going to do additional investigation with our technical team regarding building the feature as a "plug-in" as Biancardi suggested was available. Unfortunately if this is an option the custom work required would not be started until 2016 based on resources available to do the work.

There are a few larger priorities impacting all users such as the My Activity page to show ALL activity, correcting the "jumping", locking the original post to the top, just to name a few fixes that are needed as soon as possible.

I expect that some members will not appreciate this honest response regarding the option for an ignore function. I understand the frustration this is causing many and hope I am able to get this resolved sooner than 2016, but cannot commit to a faster timeline as of today.

I hope my response is helpful to you.

Keyai,

while your answer regarding a time frame to consider the Ignore feature isn't exactly what we would hope for, I just want to let you know I really appreciate your candor.  I also appreciate the way you've stayed involved in this issue!

@Keyai well, I would not be one of them. I really appreciate your straightforward approach to answering my question.

In a perfect world, of course, I would like the Ignore Function back asap but I agree that the other priorities your have mentioned are more pressing.

I also appreciate that you will be forwarding biancardi's suggestion to the appropriate team members to see if there may be a simple, quick solution to this issue.

Now that I have a better understanding of why there is a delay in fixing this issue, I can just let this issue go for now and look forward to it being resolved later.

Thanks again, and thank you for your timely and honest reply!!

Thank you for the update concerning the 'ignore' feature.

If we did have access to this feature, we certainly;y wouldn't need so may moderators.

p.s. NOT that I'm complaining or anything but I do recognize the fact that you an't be in every place all the time.  I LIKE having moderators!

Re: Update on the Ignore button feature

@Keyai of all the changes I have to say the one feature I've grown to like the best is the communication between posters and the social team.  We've asked for that for a long time and I for one am glad that was built into the new system.

We may not always like the answers we get but getting answers is better than having to guess why something is or isn't addressed.
