Re: Tired of this line of selling...

Its silly, but I find it entertaining all the scenarios they come up with

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

They spend too much time selling an item.  The hosts run out of things to say, so they repeat the same things over and over again and use filler sentences to pass the time.

I'd rather just go on line and read a description.  I get bored watching the hosts and vendors wasting my time with nonsense.

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

I guess I really don't understand the adversity to these sales tactics. Like @RespectLife, it doesn't entice me to buy. And I'm with @GenXmuse , it's kind of entertaining to me to see what they come up with. I DO go to the pumpkin patch and have fun dressing in Fall attire, we do some of the other things they talk about. Do I buy because they tell me I can wear it to specific places? No. Does it bother me that they make these suggestions? Heck no.

@BlueFinch  I agree. It would be tough to spend hours talking and talking, and selling to boot. I use to have to talk non-stop for the most part, for an hour at a time. I did this twice a day. It was tough sometimes coming up with entertaining ways to keep peoples attention.

I don't watch QVC for long periods at a time, just have it on in the background, but I find I get all the information I need from them then go online if I'm interested. That is when I check reviews and garment measurements. I guess I don't understand why it gets under peoples skin.

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

Most of the places they mention are not places I go.  I figure they have to say something and mention the things they do or things they heard others do or might do.

They try to get us excited to buy things.

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

It is kinda annoying, especially when they go too far with it. Ex.--back when the TSV was that ugly chenille shawl, hosts were saying you could wear it out to dinner and even to the opera!  SMH at that one. LOL

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

It may not be the hosts style of selling that's the issue, but maybe, we have reached overload on QVC programming.  It's the same programming and hosts week after week.

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

I would love for the Q not to spend so much time on one product and show us more products!  However, I don't think this will ever happen.

I'd rather hear suggestions about places to wear each item than the personal family stories.

I know where I'm going to wear something.  I don't "lunch", no boardwalk around here, no beach either, no pumpkin patch, or caroling either. Just desert.

So agree. Facts and visuals are helpful, but hearing I can wear it to a graduation party is not.

Re: Tired of this line of selling...

I've never been to a summer garden party and seriously doubt that I ever will be. Graduations, weddings, showers, engagement parties are also rare at my age. Pumpkin picking and apple picking are for young moms wearing jeans and sweatshirts with sneakers. Sure don't need a new outfit for these outings.
