Re: Tired of this line of selling...

Around here (Arizona) dressing up is wearing a clean pair of jeans. Shorts are the norm. You can walk into a 5 star restaurant in shorts and a polo shirt. We don't do fancy or clothes for certain occasions. Be it a wedding, fancy dinner, graduation, bbq. I'm not planning on going  to a garden party or formal event anytime soon.

I keep waiting on someone to go out on a limb and say you can wear this to your local bar or watering hole.

It's only fair since they have exhausted every other place and they need some new material. Woman LOL

Susan Graver is always telling us her things are perfect for baby showers, graduations, barbecues, etc. I haven't been to any of those things in the last 10 years.  She is the worst when it comes to the repeating the same spiel. Everything is from the bottom of her heart, lol.  Women are asking me for more natural fibers and in the. Next breathe women adore liquid knit and have changed their entire wardrobes into liquid knit- but they can't be the same women asking for more natural fibers?

@ALRATIBA Total agreement on all points. If I may add one more, don't cover up the top of a dress or tank with a sweater, jacket, or "shrug." I need to see the cut of the shoulder, neckline, and arm holes.

I don't buy "multi-purpose" clothing.

Each part of my life has it's own wardrobe .... and "never the parts shall meet."

Replying to myself ....

If the seams on prints, stripes and plaids aren't shown, I'm going to assume that they do not match and therefore .... not buy the garment.

If there are hands in the pockets or the pockets are covered by top garment, I'm going to assume that the pockets bulge and therefore .,,,,,

I really don't need to hear all those monologues again. I don't do most of that stuff anyway!

What would be reallly useful:

  • Show the side seams on all prints, plaids and stripes.
  • Show wrong side of fabric for anything other than solids.
  • If there are pockets .... no hands in pockets.  I need to see if they bulge.
  • Don't wear long tops if you're selling pants.

Women are always talking to her, women are always asking her this and that.  Who are all these women?

This particular tactic...I have no idea what research they used to justify the use of it. We all know where we can wear things. There has not been one single time  the host's suggestions on where I can wear a garment  was news to me.

I also think it's used as a time filler. I do know they have research about how long presentations need to be to drive sales. I've read this in articles about home shopping and about Q and HSN.
