Re: They beat it to Death

[ Edited ]

My least favorite phrases are when they use food words like "yummy" to describe fabrics & clothing. 🤔

This is "elevated."

If you saw this in B&M, you would see a 1, 2, or 3 in front of it. Woman LOL

@jackiejenny

Very true. Been hearing "elevated" and "put a 1 or 2 in front of our price" a lot lately.

I don't like the over-used words either. But then, I wonder what I'd do. How much can you really say about some products? I can't imagine staying sane while talking about most products for 10-30 minutes. I'd probably resort to over-used and filler words too.

Add Rachel's "PS and by the way"!!!!    Like nails on a chalk board!

🦂 And seriously, $529.00 for twelve lobsters from Maine is a great price. That's less than $45 each!

Have you noticed that whenever you go to one of those great seafood restaurants, they never, ever list the prices for lobster on the menu thingies, and let me tell you this is exactly what you're getting, Lenny the LobsterMan Cruelty Free Lobster because we hit them over the head not once, but twice, with a mini claw-hammer so they're out cold before we toss them in the giant vat of gently boiling water. Can you imagine if you had to do that , but we do it for you, so when you get it home all you're going to do is heat and eat, and enjoy !

@ManyMeows   ROTFLMAO!!! I can't stop laughing at your post and my husband doesn't get why it is so funny. I especially love the part "we hit them over the head not once, but twice, with a mini-claw hammer so they're out cold before we toss them in the giant vat of gently boiling water". OMG! My mascara is running down my face. 😂😂😂

Yes! It's always the same schpeil, place your orders right now bc as much as we'd like to believe we're (vendor) only customer but we are not. People are buying multiple sets (vitamix) so check out now. No they're not.

I agree with all of the above.  I hate how one word (that doesn't even really fit) gets used by one person over and over, then the other hosts copy it.  At first it was "story" (SK) as a filler word to be used EVERYWHERE.  Then lately it seems to have moved into "moment".  Everything is a moment.  They can't say "the final color is ocean blue."  They instead have to say "here's an ocean blue moment."  OMG.  Hosts, please grab a dictionary/thesaurus.  You can even access them online.  Smiley Happy  Do it.  Help us all.  Smiley Happy  Smiley Happy

Also, enough with 'literally.'  It is 'literally' always used incorrectly.  Most of the sales clerks on the Q are guilty of this but the biggest offenders are Jane T., Shawn, and Alberti.  The other night, JT, said 'These shoes are literally flying out the door.'  I'd pay serious money to see that.

Also, why does Shawn say that something costs a 39 dollar bill, or a 350 dollar bill?  Does she not know basic monetary denominations?  Saying that an item costs $39 or $350 is proper grammar and she should know that.  When she first did it, I thought she was kidding but she always does it.  Where are the QVC executives?  Is this how they want their company represented?

As an English teacher, I would tutor these people in proper grammar for free.  I literally would.Woman Wink

@docsgirl  Of course, Shawn knows better. She thinks she's being cute.
