I agree there should be a warning for negatively reporting posts inappropriately as well. There supposedly is, but I doubt it's ever been enforced, or at least not recently.

If they up the stakes, though, by keeping count and keeping tabs, it would be imperative that all moderators really think for a minute about reports they are about to delete. Are they truly inappropriate, or are they being deleted just because it's simpler? If in doubt, check with another moderator? Look at it in the context of the reason given for it being reported. Agree or disagree?

The majority of the moderators do a conscientious, good job and try to disrupt as little as possible, but a couple should ponder a little more before some deletions. Everyone in moderator city should be as much on the same page as possible, but they are human just as we are.

I'm glad you brought up the ignore button. I remember early on that many asking for the return of the ignore button were ridiculed and derided. However, as time goes on without it I note several that once held the not needed/wanted position are now wishing we had an ignore button.

Perhaps it is time to start another return the ignore button campaign.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

I don't understand why it would be necessary to reinstitute an ignore button unless it would be to alert the moderators of the ignoring of another poster. Otherwise, one can simply ignore the poster.

I admit, I did not think the ignore button was a big deal at first...but I have changed my mind and wouldn't mind having one here. My nic has become inflamatory ( some posters swear I'm DY) and it would be easier for those who think that to simply hit the ignore button and I could do the same and we can all post in peace.

Rather than hitting an ignore button, why not just visually jump over the post/poster that you wish to ignore??

Sometimes that works, but it would be nice to not have to even see certain posters if you know you don't get along with them.

With the ignore button, does using it remove the poster from your view on every thread or just on the one that you use it on?

I would also like to see the ignore button, but I have seen a number of times the mods stating that the ignore button is not possible with this new forum. We will not be seeing it.
