I totally agree about a separate Forum.
The purpose would not be to spread disinformation, but rather to
console, to cheer up, to calm one another, etc...and to share our separate unique stories about circumstances in our own towns.
For example, there are several PBS/CNN Specials about Pandemics,
and instead of just mixing it into the TV forum, I’d post it in a Covid-19
forum.
Who agrees??
TAP THE HEART!

I'm pretty sure that would end up in many arguments over you know who and the rest of us - it would be political..... And I think it would be more beneficial to get information from physicians and/or scientists.

I am on other forums and the amount of misinformation is scary....
There were people who said drinking rubbing alcohol would kill it and taking alcohol baths kept the virus off you........and some people believed it!!
On a strictly common sense level, why would people believe that. Wow!!

Sorry, I do not want WELLNESS overwhelmed with all this chitchat about Covid-19. If anything is done to contain the chatter, please keep it separate because these forums are consumed with Covid-19 chitchat. Actually, the good thing about a separate forum topic for COVID-19 would keep the posters who are constantly posting about this topic contained in a separate area. Let these posters have the topic available for their discussion, ideas, criticism and opinions. I DO NOT want to see any of these Covid threads/discussions in WELLNESS.

I think @JaneMarple is allowed to ask the Mods this question and other members are allowed to give their opinions. The Mods will make the decision. But this is a FORUM and we are free to discuss, within community guidelines. Mods are within their rights to delete any post that is controversial so as long as people are kind to each other there is less risk the post will be deleted. We can disagree but let's be nice about it.
I would vote for a separate forum. Perhaps something for the future such as "Current Events"? As long as the posts don't become nasty and / or political.

I think it's a terrible idea; do we really have to re-hash this over and over again? But if they do start one, I'll avoid it like the plague.

You are SO right!

Oh yes please! Mods could virus posts be moved? They are bordering on obsessive.

@JaneMarple wrote:I see that that my original post is misunderstood! My suggestion was not to give medical advice but to share concerns and information that we have read, heard or seen. There are dozens of threads now devoted to the virus on three forums, it was my thought to temporarily have a forum devoted to the subject, that's all!
We have enough theads on this subject we do not need yet another forum. I rather get my information from the doctors and the scientists then some shopping channel.
