QVC is more interested in the thousands of people purchasing the TSV with these presentations than the tiny minority complaining about it on these boards.

Their primary goal is to make money -- not entertain us.

I agree .... their primary goal is to make money, and if they can entertain in a way as to "befriend" the viewer, chances on the viewer will have their station on .... and they have longer to wear people down and order.

Anything to make more sales .... whatever it takes. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Taja123, I love that phrase: "low-level entertaining."

No entertainment, no watching. It can't be boring or I am out of there. I also say no information, no watching. Give the fabric contents, show the inside of handbags and give the dimensions. Keep showing the measurements on the screen, sometimes they are very good at this.

Short presentations would "kill" our delayed mood to buy. The longer we watch a product, and they rant and rave over it, with their best selling pitches, the longer we have time to start thinking we have to have it, need it desperately, or just plain want it like everyone else. That's how they get their hooks into us.

It's all in the master plan of winning over the customer in the insane game of salesmanship,everywhere ! Live TV at it's best ! {#emotions_dlg.devil2}

Quick presentations wouldn't give us time to work up a full-blown appetite for every product.

If you recall, many years ago there was blatant entertainment, including the Klondike Gold Rush days when the show hosts dressed up in costumes from the 1840s. Remember Steve Bryant dressed up? He was a riot.

And let us not forget Kirk's Folly, where the vendor (forgot her name) came out dressed up as a fairy princess, riding on a wagon and throwing sparkling angel dust on the stage. I remember Judy Crowell dressed up as well.

I know there were other theme-days where the show hosts dressed up and entertained us. It was fun back then. Today is different. Either I've outgrown QVC or I have nothing left that I want to buy from them.

I don't call what's on today "entertainment."

Agree. (I remember the dressing up on those shows too. I think the hosts hated the Gold Rush costumes.) Think I've outgrown QVC too especially when I look at the shipping costs and can find most of the same items elsewhere. When I shopped QVC a lot, they had items that were not available elsewhere.
