There is a great book you simply must read, titled "How to deal with difficult people". The author speaks about various personalities that we all deal with day to day, including one important personality called, " The bull dozer". It might be helpful in future shows with certain Hosts that never seem to run out of anecdotal stories about their own lives and talk incessantly.

Valerie is much too gracious and kind to respond any other way than how she does.

I know how to deal with a certain host. I do not watch her and will never buy anything she presents. Not the least bit interested in her incessant and boring family stories. Narcissism on full display.
And I've said before that I really do feel sorry for the vendors, models, and even other hosts she's paired with who have to stand there week after week and endure her self-absorbed behavior. Unfortunately they cannot change the channel or leave.

Valerie has been around a long time and is very professional. She has worked with all the hosts and know their personalities. She doesn't need a book to tell her how to handle people. Although, she probably could write a book.

@PansyBoo To OP and others on this board. When I see a particular host, full of herself and her stories, while other hosts are let go... the phrase "she knows where the bodies are buried" comes to mind. Anyone else?

The host being obliquely referenced here is a close friend of Valerie in everyday life, and their families are also close, so I doubt Valerie minds the stories and antics much. I actually find all the anecdotes less intrusive when I know the vendor has been part of them or knows all the parties involved quite well. And as noted previously, Valerie graciously makes everything work—the key details are shared and the cameras keep rolling on the items despite the chatter.
Doesn't everyone have that one family member or friend who just can't stop sharing stories? It can be a bit overwhelming at times, but they're simply trying to create connections and express their feelings. At least for me, this type of interruption in a presentation is far less annoying than many of the things other hosts do.

Silly me!!!
I thought the suggestion would be to include a Swiffer Duster with the dust collectors she pushes non-stop!!!
