Agree with everyone on the simple acting hosts, don't care about your trips, family, or how many of the item the are presenting that they claim they have or will be purchasing, just becasue a host buys 10 does not encourage me to buy more than one.....but it will never end because it appears QVC does not listen to the customers.  Also think it is so rude when they pair two host together to do a show and one will run off the show to go place an order and than come back on air and bragg how they bought the product before it  sold out.

@bonnielu    I agree.  The thing that bothers me the most is the endless scenarios as to where you can wear the item...out to lunch with friends...to church service...to a family reunion...walking the dog... to the gym.   We all know where we plan to wear the item.  I just need the details like fabric content and measurements.

@Mombo1   I had to laugh at this; my thoughts exactly.  Susan Graver always tells us to wear some of her things to" that engagement party".  How many engagement parties does she think we go to?  I have never been to one!  Do people still have them?

Now they keep reminding us that now we are starting to go to those barbeques again; how do they know where we are going?  Its all a sales pitch.  Maybe I should imagine myself at a barbeque or engagement party - LOL

I LOL'd at this as I feel the same way about all the sales pitches. Engagement parties?  Hadn't heard that one. But yes, the BBQ's, graduations, family reunions, etc.

And wait till all the Christmas shows start. They'll be telling us to pick up multiples for the gift closet, the bus driver, all the teachers, etc.

Myself, I'm always on the lookout for new pumpkin picking outfits. (sarcasm)

I kind of randomly picked one of their "shows," a "Hot Deals' hour on Tuesday June 7: D&Co denim Bermuda shorts, a charging stone, Philosophy whipped body creme, and a pair of slip on canvas sneakers. Only four items in one hour? How much can you say about those four? Ridiculous.

One of the most unhelpful parts of the on-air clothing presentations is having just one color of a clothing item to show and that one is often black. Love black but it's hard to see the febric, seaming, etc. And then there may only be one model, or NONE! And for other colors, they just flash screen shots off their web page. And the one model may wear a shrug or something over a sleeveless dress or top they're showing. Believe me, I could go on ...

Specifically addressing the models issue: Somehow HSN manages to show clothes on more than one model, and they wear different colors. Whatever. Can only remember one clothing item bought from HSN in years. I have bought various other things such as gardening equipment, household decor stuff, skin care/makeup and shoes. They have free shipping on certain categories fairly often.

Bottom line: I too don't want to listen much to their personal lives' chit chat.

EOR (end of rant)

Not quite end: I miss Elyse Ivey -- she could give a good presentation

***********

And Happy Birthday, QVC. Thanks for our Free Shipping Sunday. All my complaints and still I ordered 2 things from my wish list already, one of which seems to have never had a presentation.

Before the internet it was necessary to sit and watch in order to order and probably the majority were those stay at home moms and retired women,  but now probably more than half of their sales (especially most new customer sales) are from those just channel surfing and find something that catches their interest.   Most probably do go to the internet if they end up ordering and they get more info there.  Not too many around anymore that stay at home and watch.  Most are working or way to busy to do that now.

Just fyi. I'm retired. I'm busier now than when I worked 60 hours a week. I don't know anyone who sits and watches shopping tv. The last time I turned the tv channel to Q was in January and that lasted 2 minutes. I hate the antics and have no desire to hear personal stories.

I was somewhat disappointed with the presentation on the Tommie Copper socks last night. I was waiting to hear about the circumference of the calves to go to the wide socks. Never happened. Instead I'm watching yoga poses. Sorry Jen. Been there done that. Just wanted to hear some measurements on when it would be advisable to go to a wide calf sock..

You ladies be carefull not to dribble BBQ sauce on your new frocks at that imaginary picnic...that stuff stains.  And...that long time hostess who has two grown daughters talks way too fast.  I used to watch her every now and then when they had good Irish shows but not any more.  Do you think she does that to keep her hostess-sidekick from getting  her two cents in?

Re: Suggestion about presentations

They talk so much and spend so much time on an item, yet rarely give a good description, let the vendor talk, etc.  I like a more relaxed presentation, but this is getting ridiculous.

I do like Rachel's demos, especially with clothing.  She shows the item with different pieces, gives good ideas for how to wear it and with what.

Re: Suggestion about presentations

Totally agree!  I've actually stopped watching on TV altogether and only check the website schedule and go online AFTER the scheduled time so that I can watch as much or as little of the presentation as needed.  Sometimes an item will be gone in my size, but that's the breaks.
