I have many Dooneys. Yay, a Dooney show on with some new bags, it seems.

Then the host and vendor call the bags "she".

Click.
Turned it off immediately.

Stop. They are bags. They are not "she", they are "it".

Stop.

I think the bags identify as female. Seriously though, the host and vendor come across as childish. Please take this lovely lady(purse) home.

If you turned it off for that reason, you couldn't have been that interested.

@Quse Totally. I want to barf when they start that c88p. So insane sounding! ps. Love me a Dooney bag too. But yeah, they call everything "she" these days from bags to Isaac sweaters, to Jane the other night with her beloved Clarks sandals. Please. Stop. Just stop.

And yes, y'all...we KNOW there are more important problems in the world. Still. Stop. ✋

I must have grown accustomed to it over the years.😁 The gender assignment of a handbag is not an issue for me.😊 I am however, really sorry if it is bothersome for you🤗

Edited for clarification.

I so agree with you.  It sounds childish.

English is one of the few languages that does not assign gender to objects.

Calling a DOONEY a she doesn't bother me.

Many living things are also called she that aren't.  She is just another pronoun that doesn't have much meaning.

It's better to just go with the flow.

Why would anyone care? Remember when Lisa Robertson was flinging purses around the set and some people totally freaked out and said she was "disrespectlng" ...them.

Disrespecting PURSES...? really?
