Re: Specific details for items

First@MorningLover , thank you for the paragraph edit.👍

@SaggingGal , I do agree with you about the overreliance on the internet.  I understand QVC wants to interact and entertain their customers, but the on air hosts can find a happy medium between chit chat and giving pertinent product information.

However, it's just a fact nowadays that most people have and use the internet in some fashion.  And it's a given that is going to increase.  Unfortunately those that don't are a growing minority and don't get the consideration that the higher numbers do.

At the same time, if viewing a live presentation, not everyone wants to or is able to have immediate internet access to the product being aired.  But they still need basic product information rather than in depth descriptions of where to wear or how many products the hosts' kids own.  For example, if I'm lying in bed watching QVC and see something I'd like, I'm not going to get up and find my tablet or computer to find out product measurements.

While they won't ever be able to please everyone, it's a situation that QVC needs to address better than they have.

Re: Specific details for items

@SaggingGal You made some excellent observations. The lack of understanding for those who have no internet is costing QVC money. These are the very people who would most likely order from a TV presentation.

The shift toward trying to be entertaining to keep viewers engaged is a mistake. Those of us with all sorts of connected devices want information, too, not antics and personal stories.

I couldn't (or didn't want to) read the whole thing, just one massive dissertation.

Re: Specific details for items

@kaydee50   I never use a shopping channel beyond QVC and HSN. I thought all of them were just retailers.

Maybe you want the other companies like Amazon and Walmart to become just retailers and run shopping channels???   If so, I don't expect that to happen any time soon.  I've never read that any of the big companies are planning to comete using a TV schedule.

The financial world already calls Amazon more of a tech company than a retailer and Walmart a major supermarket,  I'm not sure what they consider Target, just know all 3 of those companies are many times bigger than Qurate.

The top 2 earn lots of their profits from membership and subscription fees, not from selling retail.  They let the much smaller companies sell from their huge websites.  (I don't know much about Target financially beyond that it's big.)

Agree , with your opinion. To me QVC and it's Hosts  insult all of us  who shop with them by treating us like some kind of social recluses who  Need all that so called " entertainment " dancing , singing and  arm flinging excitement . As a senior citizen, I don't need  entertainment , I have a life ,however when I am shopping I want the info  from the  product Reps  abt the pertinent  product  and I want full views  of every item esp prints .

I do not understand the complaints raised when it was posted online so internet service must be good since the upload of that long post would have never made it with a lousy internet connection.

Re: Specific details for items

Even with paragraphs, I found the post to be too tedious to read. From what I did read, seems to me that such a post should be sent way higher up the ladder at QVC.  I letter to the president of QVC would be my first suggestion.  Not sure any one here on the forums can help the issue.

I think it's arrogant of you to write such a lengthy post in such a small font and then think most people would be interested enough to read it. Sorry, maybe it's just me.

Re: Specific details for items

Q's leadership is not interested in giving you all the details on air. They are more interested in so-called entertainment. And no one in a position to change it will read such a loooong paragraph.

It is what it is. You won't be able to change it so figure out what you want to do - use your tablet/computer or don't get the details.
