The hosts used to give the dimensions of clothing items. Since sizes are different for different brands, it is helpful to know dimensions, including sleeve length. Using the QVC size chart vs.a brand chart isn't enough info. More talk about the item, instead of info about themselves would be an improvement.

Re: Sizing on garments

You are beating a dead horse.  All of this has been said a million times in 2023 alone.  Today's QVC is not the QVC of 2003.  They can't bore their viewers/customers by reciting measurements for every single item presented in a show.  It's just not possible because as you noted, sizes and measurements are not consistent across all brands.  There is no "your QVC size" now.  But ALL the information we need regarding fit, garment measurements, body measurements is available on QVC.com.  We have our phones, tablets, computers so Qvc is readily available.  I rarely have size problems probably because my tablet is always beside me when I watch QVC or any other shopping channel.

@chrystaltree    I agree 100%, and you have backing from Jeanne Bice.  I heard her tell a host once that using time to give the numbers was a waste of TV time.  (I suspect she knew sales were not shooting up when statistics were on the air.)    There's also learning theory that supports the idea that fewer people learn only by listening than learn via some other method or a combination of listening and seeing or in some case adding tactile.

If I see a garment, I might like, I check the charts - almost always for more than one size - to fit the better fit!

There's nothing interesting about sizes for clothes that fit someone the sizes well below mine or above mine.  There's nothing useful about any of the sizes for any garment I can reject from my first look at it.  I don't sit with a stop watch and check, but I doubt the personal stories of the hosts or vendors take up more time than the statistics I can't use.

@SaveADog I have been watching QVC since 1986 and they have never given all the measurements of each size. Holy moly, that would be the most boring show ever. Besides, they could spout out these numbers and I would still need to go online and check.

You are definitely right, measurements are crucial when ordering. Don't go by the generic size chart. I recommend going online and go to "click here" to check out all the measurements in your size for that particular item. This will avoid many returns as many brands run differently.

I'm happy seeing the "click here" size chart. then I can choose the size I need.

But lately there are a lot of "click here" size charts missing, with Susan Graver. Not sure if other brands have missing size charts.

I agree with less talking about dancing daughters, and Disney trips, and mini marathons, and crazy kitty, and Rudy, and Mom, the nutritionist, and.............................

Absolutely! And jewelry items as well. Yesterday, watching a Jennifer Miller present her new heart pendant, they barely showed a close-up nor gave measurements. Back in the day the hosts used a ruler, and color swatches so you could see the different looks. I didn't bother to buy it, because I thought the presentations were severely lacking. We know how to wear it! We don't need people telling us how and when we should wear it. We're looking for descriptions and measurements. I don't want to have to look online for that.

All that is needed for QVC to show a screen shot of the particular measurements for each size on the screen every so many minutes during the presentation instead of all the  banter of nonsense by the Hosts or announcing   numbers sold

I use the "click here" option before I order most everything now. I have personal notes of which measurements fit my body best and go from there. I looked at 7 different jeans yesterday and the sizes were all over so ended up not getting any. The best thing about shopping for clothes at QVC is this option, not available from any other vendor I've shopped so far. I agree with others that it would be a snooze fest to go over every measurement for every item. Of course, with the way they spend sometimes half an hour on an item, one would think they could at least mention some of the measurements.
