@JyllyVanilly wrote:On all or at least a lot of your handbags..and GILI... I'm not into brass or gold. Silver's my thing.
Plus a zipper on top to keep things inside, especially a bigger bag. It seems all have gone to a brass look with fringe/tassels... ufff :/ - and rose gold on jewelry with shorter chains. TY
~~ETA - I'm still using my great Bruce M bag from his first visit at the Q, long ago. It's been through the mill and is a great bag - larger, black pebble w/ silver hardware and padded shoulder strap. I get a lot of compliments too. Good stuff : )
Thanks for starting this thread!
I wish the QVC HANDBAG BUYER would keep in mind just how much silver and "designer" silver the Q sells .... and carrying a bag with brassy hardware just isn't acceptable!
IMO ...... 50% of all handbag hardware should be SILVER .... or do not carry the line any longer!

I guess I am one of the few that hates any silver/white hardware on bags or clothing!! I only wear yellow gold jewelry. I have a slight golden tone to my skin and silver/white toned accessories do not look good next to my skin. I do not own any white colored jewelry at all. However, I do not like the yellow, bright , brassy color of metal on anything. I like the burnished, toned down golden color on my clothing and accessories. I have found that when I like the look/size/color of a handbag, it always has white hardware which means that I will not purchase it!!

I'm a big fan of silver hardware too. I have a few Dooneys with the brass but vastly prefer the silver. In fact gold is a deal killer as far as I'm concerned. I can't believe they do gray bags with gold hardware. They look awful to my eye.

@Tinkrbl44 Yes, rather a blessing and a curse regarding the PU "leather" on trim pieces. Using PU on bag straps keeps the price down while you still get to enjoy leather on the main parts of the bags. I'd love to own a finer leather bag someday, but I've told myself that with all the hungry or homeless children in the world, I'd have some nerve buying a $500 purse. That usually shuts me right up. ;-)

I too prefer silver hardware. I don't know why they shouw heavy duty brass zippers on expensive bags - especially on a gray bag. It looks tacky.
