I have been a customer for 18 years and once enjoyed shopping at QVC. Since you no longer refund the original shipping in addition to the costs of return shipping I question every item I think of buying, particularly clothing. Although I understand from a business stand point to a certain degree you are not a brick and mortar store where people have the option of trying clothes on before they purchase. We also have no idea of the quality other than what the hosts tell us and we all know from experience, that is very subjective!

I do shop a lot less at QVC and likely will cut back even more now that I have retired. Just wanted to express my frustration as I do not believe you are being fair to your customers.

@Charlie BearI think if you order lots of items you return, then the new shipping is more expensive.

I know some buyers do return lots of items and each clothing return costs $3 more than it used to -  not $10 more as so many people keep saying.

For a buyer like me with maybe 80% of my purchases being skincare or haircare and the big drop in shipping cots for those things, I have saved money with the new policy.   Further, I have always hated to do returns, so I've never ordered much I was fearful of having to return.  Sure that cuts down on my ordering, but it cuts it down even when the shipping is free.  I just hate doing it!

The reduced shipping has offset the cost of an occasional return.  I know what clothing items work for me and what measurements to look for.  Clothing returns are few.  I know better then to order shoes, but did anyway.  It was no surprise when they didn't fit and had to go back.  Even though that lapse in judgment cost me $12, I'm still ahead with the shipping savings over the past year.

I agree though that it doesn't make sense if it doesn't work for you.

If you are having merchandise packed and shipped to you, trying it out, and shipping it back, then why should you not, at moinimum, pay for the shipping?  Why should other shoppers be forced to underwrite these costs while you make up your mind?

This is not an issue about QVC being fair to its customers.  This is an issue about some shoppers feeling entitled to getting merchandise on approvall subsidized by everyone else.  How fair is that?

I have been buying almost all my shoes at QVC over the years because I need an 11 W and you can't buy that size in the store.  But lately, QVCs fit in the same brand is unreliable. I had to return the last 2 pairs I bought that were Rykas because one was too long and one was too short. Each pair cost me the $5 shipping plus $7 return fee. So you can't say just buy what you know fits, because it doesn't. I will not be buying shoes from the Q anymore because of the shipping changes. I have now found many online sites with free shipping and free returns which saves me lots of money--besides amazon, there is online shoes, 6pm, zappos etc. No need to spend $12 any more to try on shoes. So the Q in its effort to make more money has lost me as a shoe customer.

I started shopping here in 1989. I LOVED shopping here and found so many great products, bought fabulous gold jewelry, tons of clothes, shoes, purses, gadgets, 4 computers, vacuums, pots and pans, lock & locks, MAKEUP sets on NON-ENDING AUTO DELIVERY, steaks, crab cakes, more gadgets, faux fur coats, sheets, down mattress toppers and tons of pillows, Christmas trees, Kitchen Aid and Vitamix. I spent a fortune every single year and loved 99% of the stuff I bought. Never once did I ever get one of the dreaded return too much letters. Because I just rarely returned anything.

And then things changed.

Quality was iffy. Sizing was all over the places. Prices were crazy for their private label clothes. Jewelry was filled with silicone or made out of brass and yet prices were didn't reflect that. Leather purses that feel like leather veneer glued to cardboard. Shipping charges - unlike EVERY OTHER ONLINE STORE - was charged per item. Orders were processed slowly, sometimes sitting "in processing" for days. This QVC no longer showcased the original QVC motto of Quality, Value, Convenience.

So I took my dollars to play elsewhere and trust me, there are so many elsewheres that LOVE my dollars. Now, there are still many happy QVC customers and I'm happy for them. But, my shopping here is very limited...I think long and hard before I buy anything here...and only after I check out the competition to see if I can get it elsewhere.

Sorry for venting this deeply on your excellent thread, @Charlie Bear. 😳😊 I feel better now. 😄

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Try buying two pair of the same shoes you like, and neither fit. That costs you $20. to try them on. I've paid $l0. to try on all of the following:  Ryka, Clarks, Skechers and  and Earth Brand. Even in the same brand, they are different in size. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson, although I love shoes. I'll do online Free S&H only.

The Q solved their letter problem with too many Return items. Now, they make a bundle with their new S&H.

To KYTOBY's comment...

I will lose over 25.00 in shipping because all the same tops i ordered are HUMUNGUS and boxy on me..This is my normal size and MANY people are writing reviews on the same top saying they are way to big for there normal size..SO HOW IS THIS FAIR TO US????  Why do we basically get stomped on for the ship charges??? I will NEVER buy any clothes from QVC again...So i lose alot on shipping yes but qvc loses my business

I agree.  Sizing and fit is not consistant in the shoes and boots.

I don't want to pay $10 or more dollars to find out shoes don't fit.

I mean a Clarks 8W should all the fit the same.

I've taken an average size 8M with no foot issues. I've got l/2 doz pair of Ryka athletic shoes, and then one day Ryka, Clarks, Skechers no longer fit. Even in the same brand, the sizing is inconsistent. And my foot is not getting both larger and smaller.

I just ordered to pair of HSN's TSV, Free S&H with a matching bag. The new BZEES Athleisure shoes and bag. If they don't fit, I'll box them all up and at least will only pay one $7.00 fee. I'll take this chance. Eager to see how consistent Naturalizer is.

The Q seems to no longer have any quality control and making big money on all their returns. Not even sending out letters any more that I've noticed on the boards. Of course not....
