SINCE THIS SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY WAY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE:

I recently purchased 7 items of clothing and paid $3.00 shp. fee on each totalling $21.00.  I called before returning 1 of the items to check if I used the return your own way label there would be no deduction with exception of the $3 orig. shp. fee and was told that no other deduction would be applied.....WRONG....they deducted $6.95 retn. label fee....which should not have been.  My complaint here is the $21 original ship fee is absolutely overcharge and then they deducted the $6.95 in error which I had to call and have corrected and was told that this happens all the time.  I love QVC, but your policies on shipping are ridiculous.....overcharging and then not following your own policy in returning fees.  There is no phone number you can call to talk to someone to voice a complaint, thus my blog.  Not sure I will be so quick to order in the future, unless someone answers my complaint or you change your gouging shipping fees.

I also wanted to add that most companies out there today are offering free shipping which makes your purchase much more enticing....you might want to rethink your policies on shipping fees....either lowering to the actual cost of shipping or offering free shipping.

9 times out of 10 if I have to return something I pay my own shipping b/c I live in Philly so it is cheaper for me to pay on my own. They always charge me the return shipping fee and I have to call and have the fee refunded to my account. I think they charge by default and not look at how you returned the item.

@Ant Mar FYI, I have learned over the years to not call CS at their 1800 # any longer, if I have a problem I come here to the forums and post a note to the Customer Care team , they have never disappointed me!

IMO the CS representatives at the 18000 # have lacked the compassion they once did and our complaints seem to be a dime a dozen and they just do not care.  I have had CS clerks state one thing and do the complete opposite, I have received attitude on more than one occasion, and when I have asked to speak to a supervisor I am told there is none, and the worst is when I have had to make 7 phone calls to get a complaint corrected that was QVC''s error, I finally just canceled the item!

QVC does need to address their training of the CS clerks at their 1800 #, they are the lifeline to customers needs and how the customers views QVC as a company, my experiences in the last few years makes me question QVC and how they conduct business!

Re: Shipping Fees

[ Edited ]

I was ok with paying the fee for using the easy return label because I found most often my postage was close to the same using Priority Mail with insurance from (USPS), or shipping UPS.   The thing that really irked me was when QVC discontinued returning the original s&h last year.  For almost 30 years the refund of original s&h was something they did which separated them from the pack.  Until recent years, a lot of retailers who now offer free s&h and free returns did not.   Whether or not the freebie s&h practices have already factored into their pricing is another topic, but the gesture of free s&h and no charge for returning is a great marketing move for inspiring sales.

@CareBears I understand, I have received attitude also and was beside myself .......It was their error I was trying to correct and the CS rep was literally laughing at me, I was mortified.  I've never run into that with other online vendors.  I have to shake my head when someone calls in and states how wonderful the customer service is at QV.C.  I think WAIT - your turn will come.

@Ant Mar  Why do you think you shouldn't have been charged a shipping fee for returning the item?  You don't mention anything in your post that would have exempted you from being charged for returning one item.

@Ant Mar- If I understand what you said correctly, you used the "Return Your Own Way" label and paid the return shipping yourself?  And then the $6.95 fee for using their prepaid label was deducted anyway?

If that's the case, I can understand you being annoyed.  I had the same thing happen not too long ago (and not for the first time) and I had to call up CS to get the $6.95 refunded.  I actually had to provide the USPS tracking number so it could be verified and noted on my account!

I agree that this happens way too many times.  While I don't think it's a deliberate policy of trying to fleece the customers (as some have implied in the past), I do think it's inexcusably careless.  The customer should not have to be checking up on every single return.

Sadly, that's often the case now with QVC.  If you don't want to get overcharged, you need to check every time and I even check days later to make sure that $6.95 didn't get deducted after the return was processed (it's happened).  I also keep meticulous records!

Sorry this happened to you.

Re: Shipping Fees and New Shipping from UPS to USPS

[ Edited ]

I am beyond frustrated with the shipping fees and the length of time it's taking to receive AND return products to QVC. I recently returned 4 items in ONE return package and was charged 4 return fees! With the original shipping of $3 plus the additional $6.95 per item, that is $40 in shipping charges that I paid -- for the priviledge of waiting for 2 weeks to receive my items, try them on only to find that most don't fit because of the inconsistant sizing, waiting another 2 weeks for my products to arrive back at QVC and another 2 -3 days for a refund.

My return prior to this one of 6 items was rec'd by QVC and I never got my refunds until I contacted them!! NOT THE FIRST TIME. I had to email them - my items had been rec'd 7 days earlier. The return fee of $6.95 is HIGHLY over charged for many items and QVC is clearly making money on their customers dime. I have Amazon Prime and receive my items in 2 DAYS and in some cases 1 DAY with FREE as in ZERO shipping.

I bought a pair of Lisa Rinna pants - total order was $72 with S & H. I returned in the package with the 3 other items and was refunded $51. I had applied a $10 giftcard to this order that I guess they get to just keep? I paid $20 for trying on a pair of pants. The reasonable S&H that QVC used to have and the wonderful customer service was a big reason why I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars with QVC. The shipping is clearly out of control and I DO believe that QVC is making money on these returns. Very close to saying bye-bye to QVC.

Like others, we, your customers are being gouged and I am tired of having to micro-manage every return!
