Agree, sparkly, too much white straining my eyes.

Oh yes....this stark white background is really hard on my eyes. We need a little color adjustment!!!!

I have no doubt you will, circles.
It's similar to composing something in email, especially YahooMail.

@SparklyTiara wrote:Hello,
I'd like to ask that some color be added to the Community's new design. Almost everything is gray, black, or white, which to me, comes across as cold and sterile. I also find, oddly, that it bothers my eyes to some degree, which discourages me from browsing the forums for any length of time. Some background color may make it feel more inviting and pleasing to the eye. Thank you very much!
There's a nice range of text colors and shades that you can start threads with, or use to post replies.
Plus, you can use the following colorful emoji's :
kittycat, smiley, girl, and heart.
And, there's color in the avatars, with much more to come as their pics/photos post.
Guess you didn't yet explore all of the new options here before you started this thread...
Sooo, play with those features above, plus the choices for font type and size.
Feline, I have explored all of the features. I was not referring to lack of color in things we can manipulate in my request, but color in the background of the forums. If you read my original post, I'm saying it's tough on my eyes (all of the white, that is), and that adding some background color may make it easier on the eyes and more inviting. Even if they just changed all of the areas that are gray to another color, I think it would make a big difference, aesthetically.
Also, I believe we commented on the same thread in the Beauty forum about what we like about the new forums, and in my response, I mentioned the option to change the size, color, and style of font, as well as the addition of avatars. I don't think colorful avatars will be enough to break the harshness of the white everywhere, though.
So, I'm asking for a little less white and/or gray in the forums. That's all.
Thanks for the clarification, Spark, and you make some good points; appreciate you reminding me of our posts on the Beauty forum.

This is a little off topic but talking about color I don't like how when there are multiple replies the original post gets so light you can't read it. I find that very annoying.

my eyes hurt from all the gray...this never happened before

I agree with everyone that there needs to be more contrast to reduce eye strain.
NycVixen: I thought it was just some weird thing that our computer was doing -
when the forum page first comes up, the threads are highlighted in blue, then
the revert to grey/white. I can't understand how people spent weeks designing
these new forums without any thought to how it looked or would be used!

Where is the font color change for the replies?
