Please reserve REVIEWS for those who have actually PURCHASED and tried the item!! It's unfair to both customer and vendor to have random bloviating from non-purchasing trolls under the guise of a "Review".

@JLLH358 There are many threads about this very subject.  It would be nice if they did that.

Yes, otherwise the reviews given are pretty worthless. And recently I saw where someone had submitted TWO separate reviews on a jewelry item. How does that happen? I didn't think that was even allowed.

If I'm not mistaken, HSN has a policy (or did) where you could NOT review an item if they did not think you had received it already (depending on when they estimated delivery), let alone if you had not purchased it! The system would shut that mess down in a heartbeat. The Q has no excuse not to follow suit with this. People rely on reviews and shouldn't have to wade through pages of trolls to read a valid review!!

Reviews are approved through an algorhythm, usually a third party, and not by people.

We'd all like to see reliable reviews but it's not going to change. We have to learn to ignore certain things and move on.

Well since other channels (incl. HSN - which they own) can do so, there's really no reason the Q cannot follow suit. Whether they want to do so enough to follow the lead of other sites or not remains to be seen, of course, but I cannot pretend it's "impossible" and therefore both vendors and customers just must get used to Reviews being meaningless. Sorry, no.

I get amused by whoever is running the "Reviews" department.  I purchase an item.  I get an email requesting that I submit a review of the item.  I get another email stating that QVC does not like the review I submitted for the item, and I have been moderated due to such a submission.  Hey, QVC.  Don't ask for a reivew if you doln't want the review.  The End.

I agree, and...will not purchase products that the only reviews were gathered by a promotion of those that did purchase.

I looked at something this morning on QVC...all reviews were not by QVC purchasers but by a promotion.

I also agree with someone here who would not purchase products where  some or all of the reviews were gathered by a promotion vs those that  purchased from Q.  I was looking at an item yesterday and reviews from a promo had more 5 star reviews than those who purchased from Q.  In addition, there were no 1 or 2 star reviews from the promo but 8 reviews  from Q buyers in the 1 and 2 star categories.  Those promotion purchases, if they are even purchases, skew the overall ratings up which I think is unfair as they are not Q customers.  Also, some of those other reviews are from a group called Influensters which is worth a look.
