I work part time at a craft/hobby store (cashier).  The amount of returns is INSANE!  The other day someone returned over $500 worth of floral.  I had a couple bring in several of those large plastic moving bins full of returns (multiple receipts).  I remember a lady who was going to return about 20 packages of glue, all opened and half used, saying the glue was no good (didn't purchase from us, it was Home Depot).  Many customers talk about how they are going to return items after using them.  The list goes on and on.  A new, young cashier (17 years old), had to take a break from returns because one night it was so bad, so many and most of the customers were very rude and the last one made her cry.  It gets worse, it's not Christmas yet.  Easily we can have 25 plus shopping carts full of returns.  I take a lot at Costco's returns whenever I'm there, it's even worse there.  Returns in general, are a problem.

@ScrapHappy

Your post did not surprise me.

Some people IMPULSE buy then regret their purchases when they get the credit card bill, and immediately rush to the store to return their impulse purchases.

Others buy with the intent of using the item for a special occasion: An evening dress, a special dress to attend a wedding, fake flowers for a special occasion, etc. All with a prior intent to RETURN the item(s) AFTER they have used them.

In both instances, some people just can't control themselves, or they purposely want to "rent" items just to return them when they are done using them.

Whatever the case; it's basically either stupidity or dishonest.

The kids are posting lots of media online about "Doom spending" how they are maxing out their credit cards because they can't keep up with inflation, or in most instances; the despicible INFLUENCERS which cause them to make bad purchasing choices.

Again; it's either stupidity or dishonest.

I don't have an answer, I think the economy has increased this kind of obsurd activity/habit.

I have been fortunate with Q returns. I package up any returns all in one Priority Mail USPS box, send it flat rate (which is guaranteed 2 days including insurance).

I list all the returns enclosed on a piece of paper which I tape inside the box, and I attach all the return labels marked clearly to each item.

My returns are credited in less than ONE week from the date I ship them back.  The Ontario CA warehouse has done a STELLAR job with my returns.

Luckily, I do not return a lot.

I don't think there is an easy answer for people who are habitual when it comes to returning items.

@Etoile308 - well goody for you, for having such precise "habits"

QVC's return policy has no bearing in my comment. Their 30 day return policy is not unlike many retailers.

With any online transaction you don't see the item in person. But QVC is far and above with the advantage of a live broadcast/video display of the item, and from what I've experienced, a more detailed garment sizing chart than the vast majority of other retailers. If one is a conscientious consumer you avail yourself of all the tools offered before making a purchase.

@Etoile308 - Congratulations and goody for you that all your purchases have been wonderful decisions and you have the status of being a most concientious cosumer. I personally will return items I purchase if I choose to. I hope I never get to the point in life where i have to judge OTHER people's decisiions to return items, regardless of the quantity.

@wifey2qt

If you read my post correctly, I was responding to SCRAPHAPPY's experience with the vast amount of returns she experiences at her job.

If you will note, I also commented on returns I have done to Q via USPS priority mail.

In no way were you implicated in my post.

Please me more careful with your insinuations.

Returns are a problem as OP said, regardless of the amount you return,  If you don't have to return, just count yourself lucky rather than juding people.   as for the specfic garment measuments as some have said are often not correct, I know because I ALWAYS check them and I have to return becaue they don't match up.when I try them on.  Your attack on the OP was unwarranted and not nice

I have shopped over 30 years w QVC and I'm frustrated with money being given back to us in a timely manner.  It really is close to 3 weeks before it makes full circle.

i also return a lot because with clothes and shoes you never know how it will look.  Anyway they charge when it ships( that varies a lot if it's coming from Ca).  Then you return if need be and they tell you that can take up to 10 days.  It's ridiculous.  Amazon has the best return system.

Guess what ! @Loves Cats 80 🤗

I don’t know how you missed this if you’ve been shopping 30 yrs here, but they do have a speedy return system.

All you do is email QVCEasyreturns.com and list the item (s) and order number (s) of what you are sending back or exchanging and your credit will be done in less than a week. Usually mine is done in 1-3 days. Your exchange will process right away too. Easy peasy. 😎

Rescue Lover,

Thank you ...I've never used the easy return.  I usually ship my items back UPS and pay for the return and they always hit me with a shipping charge.  So yes you have to watch that.
So you're saying the money is returned in your account faster?

I email QVC easy returns,  let them know what i am returning,  and how to handle the refund

I go to my orders, and follow the return process. They email me a QR Code. I take my package to the place I selected. Show the code, and they print the label, and a receipt for me. They place the label on the package, and take it.

Within a week I get an email that my return has been processed . My money has been refunded as requested.
