Is there a reason why the quality of camera work on Q2 is so poor? Both the live and previously recorded segments look blurry. Your main QVC channel is a much better picture.

I believe QVC uses high definition cameras and QVC2 doesn't. I could be wrong on this, but that is what it looks like to me.
I have a relative who used to work in broadcasting, and said that the difference in cost for HD camers is astronomical compared to the standard camera.
But like I said, I could be wrong on this.

@SN661 I don't think it's the cameras, it's the broadcast. QVC is broadcast in HD and QVC2 isn't.

@PA Mom-mom Same thing. You can't broadcast in HD if you don't have HD cameras. ![]()

I believe QVC Live (the main channel) is the only one of the three they now have that broadcasts in high definition. So if you have an HD TV (which most people do now), QVC2 and Beauty IQ will look a bit fuzzy.

Poor picture quality on QVC2 is why I do not watch it very often. I would watch more, even though I certainly do not need to, if it was in HD.

On my tv not only is it a little blurry but everyone looks taller and thinner.

Many years ago, at least ten, one of the non-profit organizations I financially support and who has a TV program was sending out fundraising letters to all of us. They said they were behind the times with their TV cameras and in order to compete and look good with high-quality broadcasting, they needed to purchase high-definition cameras.
Their letter outlined the cost of each, and they needed three. I don't recall what the cost was, but do remember that I thought I could purchase 2-3 homes for the cost of one HD camera. They are not cheap by any means. Not saying that QVC can't afford it, just saying it is a big expense for any company to do.
That being said, I'm just assuming that it is the camera (and hence the ability to broadcast in HD) that makes QVC2 not look as sharp. I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.

That is true but when a Q program is recorded in HD and it is repeated on Q2, which is an almost daily occurrence, it is not broadcast in HD.
