Re: QVC needs to evaluate shipping costs and process

@slt79  Wanted to be sure you saw the free shipping on everything until 3:59 est today.  Maybe your boxes will still be in stock.  Not sure if you are on the boards right now, but I remembered your post from yesterday and am hopeful you can take advantage of the free shipping. :-)

What about this? I ordered the KitchenAid mini food processor on 10/21. It shipped on 10/28! Really?

Who knows when I’ll get it. The ONLY reason I ordered it from QVC is that they didn’t have it on Amazonor Target and it was more expensive at kohl’s. I think QVC knew that!

Re: QVC needs to evaluate shipping costs and process

The one product area where they had to rethink shipping cost was processed foods. People early on complained about the often 50% shipping fee. So Q decided to include the shipping cost in their food item price—the folks who balked at buying a $20 cake with $10 shipping would buy that same cake at $30 with shipping included. And it has worked very well. Premade food is half of ITKWD and they started showing the frequent multi-hour food fests.

Shoppers lobbied for cheaper shipping and we got handed a return policy that more than makes up for their initial shipping fee reduction. Personally, I’m afraid that if they give us any additional shipping “breaks” we’ll just end up paying it back twofold to them in some other pricing scheme.

My biggest complaint about the S&H cost is that it is based per item. That really limits me from purchasing multiples of any items.  Anywhere else I shop S&H is based on the total cost of your purchase.  I realize that would require a change in how QVC presented items on air.

@Quse

I have been saying this for quite some time.  Most online retailers offer free shipping when you spend a certain amount.  Or, when you buy multiples of the same item you do not pay separate shipping on each one.   I have decided against buying so many times when I see the added shipping costs.  Some say they don't care because they want the item, but there are many other places to shop that don't have the Q's ridiculous shipping charges.  Also, Q is not very fast getting the item to you.  Many sites I use online get the item to me within a few days.

I agree. I'm watching a Clark's show and shipping prices are all over the place.  Unloop are 10.00 to ship and an ankle boot is 5.00! I don't understand the reasoning. It's not based on price of item or weight.

Re: QVC needs to evaluate shipping costs and process

I live fairly close to most of QVCs shipping points. I used to get items within 3 days. Now the items don't even ship for a week. WHY????

It's the return shipping fee that bothers me.  You should be able to waive that fee if you select merchandise credit.  This is a small change that would make a big, meaningful difference !

When I see a name brand on QVC I am interested in purchasing I always check Amazon before I buy.  Most often Amazon is less expensive, even with Prime than QVC when you add the shipping charges.  If prices are the same or within a $1.00 or so I buy from Amazon and have it within 2 days.

Find I am watching QVC for ideas but not buying there.
