I know many people aren't going to agree but I have a pet peeve of people posting reviews when they havent actually purchased THAT SPECIFIC ITEM. So a TSV is on and you're already reviewing it when you havent ordered or received it (Yes I know some people can get them in advance).

So theres a ROWENTA iron and you once bought a Rowenta and don't like it and will never, ever buy one again so you're giving it a one star review. HOWEVER, you didnt buy THIS IRON so please review the item they're selling. Same that you didnt like your (name your brand) makeup, but that is not the item on sale...You may not like the cleanser but maybe the foundation is better. Maybe you bought a Temptations pan 5 years ago and it sticks like crazy (they all do by the way and you have to pay to ship them back which gets expensive and they often don't have a replacement in stock but thats another issue altogether)...Im sorry for your experience, but that doesnt mean that the stock pot five years later is the same. Go to the forum if you want to complain about a brand but don't sully up the reviews by posting reviews that are for different products.

If QVC doesnt want to waste time monitoring , maybe they can do something like Amazon. If someone actually bought the item, have it marked as a VERIFIED PURCHASE. At least that way the user will know that the reviewers actually bought the product they are reviewing. I want to know that Im reading a review by someone who actually bought and used and tested the item Im considering.

ITA. I'm a buyer who reads the reviews before purchasing. If an item doesn't have at least a 4 star rating I carefully read all reviews as well as the Q&As. If the Q allows these ""fake"" negative reviews I'm sure they lose sales. Many times I've decided not to purchase based on reviews. If I was just now looking at the new Roma II and reading those fake reviews I probably wouldn't purchase it. But I was reading the forums and Facebook long before the TSV and knew these reviewers couldn't possibly have the new version so they didn't sway me.

What about the ""fake"" positive reviews? Those tick me off just as bad. Like all of the 5 star reviews for David's cookbook when it hadn't even shipped. It was practically customer top rated when it hadn't shipped... or the 5 star reviews for the GILI items just because they like Lisa.

Not sure why the Q allows reviews of items not purchased. When I post a review, there is always a question of did you buy the item or not. You'd think if anyone checked NO they would block it and, as double insurance, monitor the posts to delete those that weren't pertinent.

ITA. they should only allow reviews from the account where the exact item has been purchased. I have seen both sides (one star or five star) reviews from people who have not even purchased the product. QVC is always touting their review system, but it is completely diluted when people who have not bought the product review it. Some examples:

1. people giving 5 stars to David's cookbook back when it was on PRE-ORDER and the books hadn't even been shipped to anyone.

2. someone giving 1 star to a product because 'it should be on EZ pay'

3. someone giving 1 star to a product because it doesn't come in petites or the color they want it to, or someone giving 1 star to a product because it needs to be dry cleaned so they won't order it

4. someone giving a product 5 stars because 'I just love Susan and I can't wait to get this'
