@nomless wrote:Appreciate your suggestions and detailed instructions, Celery. But it requires going to each category in order to see the new posts. That's too time consuming and tedious, especially after years on the old system which enabled us to see all new posts across categories simply by choosing the View All Threads option. I don't have the patience to take the time to go to each category. But I recognize that's just me.
My solution will have to be floating the three or four threads I really care about and ignoring the rest. I'm sad about that, as it was fun to browse all active threads, but it's just too cumbersome to do so now. Oh, well, NBD.

I'm trying hard to deal with this....this....I don't even know what t call it, other than a mess.
I really hope they address this issue sooner rather than later. I'm really close to giving up in frustration ![]()

@nomless , I think I misunderstood what was being asked in the OP. I now see that it pertains to the "main" community page, and not to each forum page? I was trying to help with seeing most recent replies within each forum page (not the "main" page). Sorry about that. With the former Q forums, I never utilized the "main" page -- I would only visit a few specific forums, and rarely viewed the "main" page that included threads from ALL forums. Anyway, thanks for acknowledging my post. I appreciate it. I think I'm going to stop replying directly to other posters' questions, though, because I never get a reply or acknowledgement. I have to say I think it's a little rude for someone to not take 2 seconds to acknowledge someone's post to them, especially when they are trying to help. But YOU did, so thanks very much, and I hope you have a great week. :-) .

@ i like celery- I'm so sorry I did not respond to your post. I never want anyone to feel slighted or that their input is not appreciated. I did not intentionally ignore your post. I did read it and I knew you didn't quite understand what I was asking. I was afraid if I pointed that out, you would feel bad about that.
With my recent health problems, hospitalization and med changes, I'm not quite myself. Please forgive, I would never want to hurt the feelings of a nice poster like you.

I've noticed this too, but I think it's because a lot of folks can't find their previous posts. If you can't check your previous posts, you can't see if anyone replied.

@I like celery, yes, that's correct. but hey, I'm sure your post was helpfu to others, even if it doesn't solve what's on betteb's and my wish list. This forum software is so different from what we had before, all hints about how to use it effectively are useful and welcome. So, as before, thanks for your input.
There are some things I do like about this iteration of the forum software, such as the notifications and the float feature. Those are quite helpful.
I hope this week on the forums is a little more calm than last week!

@shoesnbags I get what you're saying, but in this case the OP did come back to the thread and replied to posts other than mine. But she has since apologized, so I'll accept. The other posters in this thread - Keyai and nomless - weren't sure what the OP was asking for either, so I don't feel too bad! Anyway, thanks very much for the post.
Regarding what you mentioned about locating previous posts, you probably already know this, but if you enter your poster name into the search bar at the top of the forum, then change Community to User (in the drop down menu), and click Go, it brings up some of your profile info. You can then click on the info that shows your post count (there's a little "bubble" icon to the left of post count). That will bring up your posting history. It's not as quick and easy as checking your posting history/activity with the "old" forums, but at least it's a way to find your posting history. ** If you already knew this, I hope you'll please excuse. :-) **

@nomless - Thanks, again. I haven't minded the forum changes, but I can understand frustration with how the threads are now displayed under "View All Forum Topics." Hope you all won't have to wait until 2016 for this to be "fixed." Again, hope you have a great week. :-)

Shoesnbags, thanks so much for your comments. I am having a very hard time with the new format, and it doesn't help me to know that even once I figure it out, I most likely still won't like it.
