For me, the only time I use pants pockets is when I walk my dog.  I fold a paper towel into my pocket because inevitably I start to sweat after we start running around the grassy areas together.

Other than that, I never use pants pockets, ever.  I am never putting a cell phone, keys, or anything in my pants pockets -- no matter if they are my office slacks, or my weekend jeans.  I don't mind empty pockets being there -- they don't add bulk to me -- I've just never use them.

To continue the pockets theme, I never use chest pockets on shirts. Why are they there?  Unlike pants, I will not buy blouses or shirts with pockets on the chest.

I seem to have a perpetually runny nose these days.  I wish every garment had a pocket for my tissues!!!!

IF you didn't have pockets, you'd always have to have a purse of some kind and I hate dragging them around.  Mine are almost always very small, when when you go out you have to have:

Keys, money, sometimes my phone, and that's it.  That's all I have to have (sunglasses, but I put them in the neck of my shirt).  Those are my essentials.  Nothing else usually.

What do you HAVE to have?  A lip gloss?  Really?  LOL!! Woman Happy

I always use my small cross body purse. I prefer that to pockets. That’s just my preference.

I don’t need pockets in my jeans or pants as I never put anything in them.

Tops, I love pockets. I like to be able to rest my hands or at least 1hand inside when walking.

Dont like to carry anything in them except maybe a tissue that can be folded small. I hate to have anything causing a bulge of any kind.

I'm plus-sized and pear-shaped...most pockets don't add bulk to me, unless I stuff them full.

For office wear, I prefer side pockets in my pants...the reason being, I often walk to nearby places to pick up lunch, and if I have a handbag or wallet in my hand, the panhandlers hit me up for money! If the money is in my pocket, all that is in my hand is my keys, and they don't bother me.

I bought a number of pairs of Ruby Rd pants last year...love the fit, they wear like iron, wash great--but for some unfathomable reason, while the SIDE pockets are "faux", the BACK pockets are fully functional! Talk about adding bulk if you put anything in those!

Love pockets, need pockets!  Need it for my phone when at work.  I like them in dresses and jumpsuits.  Gives me something to do with my hands.  I feel like I'm posing.

I  TOTALLY  agree!  If there are pockets in your top, blouse, cardigan, jacket...leave them off of the pants!!  They look horrible if they are a seam pocket.
