Re: Please Address Website Problems

@NickNack  No, the problem isn't on your end. The problem is this website, where glitches are the norm and one assumes we're simply supposed to endure them, since whatever IT component manages them appears unable to contain them. As for Chrome, more times than not, I'm using a Chromebook, so Chrome is my default browser. Using it doesn't negate having issues. I do appreciate suggestions made by both mods and other users, but the bottom line is there needs to be a hot line to the IT team, such as it is. It isn't the job of users or moderators to correct website problems.

I agree with you, @stevieb.

There are steps we can take to mitigate the problems (all of those mentioned in this thread), and oftentimes that will fix things...  for the moment.

But, then, we log out and later return only to find the same problems are back again.

These days I hesitate to offer any of those steps, because I understand everyone is weary of the ongoing glitches and the need to jump through hoops just to make the site marginally workable.

Unfortunately, if we want to use the site we're left to helping each other and constantly switching browsers and taking all of the other steps.

Complaints have been fruitless (not the fault of the QVC Social Team, who have to wade through the technical quagmire the same as we do), and the IT staff does nothing, and the powers-that-be evidently don't care.

QVC's shopping site, and their Community site, continue to be oddly sub-standard in design, function, and support.

In my opinion, it's been that way since I first began using it years ago and it continues to decline.

It makes absolutely no sense in a world in which businesses like Qurate depend so heavily on their online presence.

I have the same problem!  Very frustrating.  I use Chrome and I cleaned my cache.  I don't know what else to do!

I have Chrome and I tried Internet Explorer.....same issues.  The top bar drops down everytime I click on something.

Can someone remind me how to clean my cache?

@tends2dogs,  I just saw your question...  the specific steps can vary depending upon the device or the version.   Anytime you forget, just search for something like "how to clear cookies & cache for [insert browser name].

Take a look at this (or search for "Clear cache & cookies Chrome" if you don't like to click links) for Chrome, and see if it helps.😊

@dooBdoo  Completely agree... Have always been shocked, frankly, that as a major corporate entity, QVC (Qurate) seems never to have taken their web presence very seriously. They are fully aware of the site's long-term shortcomings, and clearly just don't care enough to make a commitment to improving it.

@NickNack   You should try Chrome.  It has become my favorite  browser and I have tried them all. Just a suggestion... I know you said you did not want too....🙂

It really is way past time to stop feeding the site jumping beans... You already need Dramamine to navigate this mess...

I see a slight bounce using my iPad 6 (with Safari), @stevieb, but not with my Mac (using Chrome).

However, with the Mac, the huge frame at the top of the page (the one with the "What can we help you discover?" search bar, etc.) follows when I scroll down the page and covers part of what I want to read and it covers the formatting features toolbar when I'm writing a post.

I've noticed this has been happening off and on for maybe a few weeks.

I can see by the various threads that people are reporting all sorts of different problems -- doesn't end, does it.  (sigh)

@stevieb I thought I was the only one. I sometimes get vertigo and a few times my head started swaying and I had to take a valium to help with it and then I stayed away for a while.

Now I wear dark sunglasses and it helps a little. My family keep asking "what's up with the sunglasses in the house".  I just smile lol.

What bothers me also is I click on a Thread I'm interested in reading and I end up getting a Thread further down the line that I'm not interested in reading. What a waste of time.

@Sage04  So true... Unless you wait for the page to quit doing the shimmy you never know what link you're actually clicking or where you'll land...

@dooBdoo  Sad but true... When and if one glitch ends, another pops up to take its place... It's like clock work... Smiley Frustrated
