maybe you could start a new thread for a new year....maybe even label it 2019 and start a new one each year?
"widows conversation"
"widows support and conversation"
"widows who want to chat"
"widows discourse"
Goldensbest: This may be a good idea; although the pictures are always nice it often takes time to go back to a particular thread that was posted earlier. This one is a Widow's site but some would gladly go somewhere else just to see the pictures. That way, many others may participate and enjoy the pictures who don't go to the particular site mentioned.
That was the purpose of it, now just tons of pictures.
I'm sorry for the quotes, but I wanted to preserve the continuity -- @goldensrbest, as you know this was discussed in the thread titled "widows thread" back in December (12/14/18) and most of the posters said they enjoy the images although some agreed it was difficult to locate the discussion posts. A few options were mentioned, but since the thread is within standards and many people are happy with it... it seems to me these suggestions by @sunshine45 and @HiLo are lovely alternatives and possibly worth pursuing. I'm sure there's a "win-win" solution somewhere to be found.❤️

I know what you are referring to.
And it is easier said than done going back and locating conversations.
Maybe this should be a suggestion to the Q if they might do something about the formatting of the boards here.
I like the suggestion of using the word “chat” or “conversation” in the title of a discussion thread to differentiate them?
There are posters who might like to keep the types separated.
For instance, let’s say that such and such was in the hospital.... now you have posters for two or three pages asking how they are, but if you have missed a day, you might have 20 pages to sift through trying to find out how such and such is doing now?
There really aren’t any “forum police” to keep posters from posting in one way or another. There are some ways a site can be formatted to make scrolling easier, such as being able to enter a page number and skip a few pages ahead or behind at a time.

The Cocoa Cafe you posted about was started by @Puddles and she changes the thread each season. Most of the posters on that thread have been friends for a long time and enjoy posting pictures and conversing with one another.
Widows thread was started long ago and the original poster has passed away. @possummink posts beautiful appropriate pictures to lift the spirits of those who may want an escape from the grief they are experiencing. Conversation also is between friends there. They are a wonderful, caring kind group of posters. Sometimes, there is a lag time between conversations and by posting pictures the thread remains easily viewable as opposed to searching page after page.
IMHO, everyone is welcome to start their own thread with an open invitation for like minded posters.
@sunala posts monthly threads for book lovers and a separate thread for pictures of the book covers.
Well wishes for a blessed 2019 @goldensrbest

There are some good suggestions here. Have a separate thread Widows Conversation or something like that. Talk on one and picture viewing on another.
