I used to get Kim Rogers pants at Belk and they came in Average, Shorts, and Petites.  However, I checked on Belk today and while she still had all those options, all of the pants were pull-on which I don't want.

I don't normally purchase clothes from QVC.  But I need a 28 inch length in petites.

@SportyShorty07  Thank you.  No, I don't currently have a favorite petite brand.  A lot of my pants are old and are Kim Rogers.  But, unless that brand brings back zipper openings, I won't be buying them.

In the last year, I've bought some of the Marla Wynne pants.  Those would be the more just below the ankle length pants you'll see me in.  They're not petite, but at least the crotch didn't hang down and I did have to have them hemmed.  She is now bringing in more petite pants.  Whether they're truly petite or not I wouldn't know.  She's also changed her sizing and seems to be embracing pull-on pants, so I don't know if I'll be buying her.  Prior to getting those I hadn't bought a pair of pants, besides, jeans in years since I just couldn't find any in the stores I have locally.

I generally have to look at pant pricing and then add in alterations before I buy since I know I'll probably have to at least have them hemmed.  I've even had the waistband dropped on some which then brings the crotch up.  I haven't done that in awhile, so I don't know what that costs these days.

@Icegoddess   Thank you for the petite pants brand recommendations- those brands have a very nice assortment of colors and silhouettes,  If you're ever in the need for jeans, I highly recommend the brand called Express- they have great cuts of denim in a ton of different washes.  I'm 4'11" and I've never had to have any of their jeans shortened when I purchase them in the petite or short inseams.  I have over 40 pairs of their high waisted ankle length skinny jeans and I love them.Smiley Happy.

@SportyShorty07 I just took 3 pair of pants to be altered.  One pair is a simple waistband too large on a pair of pants I got at Costco.  That's a common problem for me.

2nd pair were a simple hemming for some Guess jeans I just got.  Hemming prices have gone up to $20 now.  But, I do appreciate Guess sizing in that they size by waist measurement much like men's pants.  Years ago I bought several cargo/carpenter-style pants in the men's dept. in 30/30, so I knew I could wear a 30 waist.  And jeans crotches are shaped differently, so I've never had a problem wearing non-petite in them.  I usually buy Shorts, but these were clearance and Shorts were not available.  I'll be wearing them with heels, so not so much had to be taken up.

3rd pair needed the crotch taken up AND hemmed.  That ended up costing me more than I paid for the pants.  That's why I pretty much only buy pants on clearance.

I just measured two pairs of NYDJ  jeans in Petite. One was 26 1/2 inches a light wash and another dark wash 29 inches. Luckily I am close to 5'4"... 5' 3 1/2 " so can make do or they would be going back. Another black denim NYDJ was barely 26 1/2 inches. All ordered at the same time and Petite? I think they were all to be 28 inches?  I can hem my own but when I order In would hope they are correct as described. I really need a short now that I have lost height due to aging. What a toss up?

@Icegoddess  That's a good idea to buy pants on clearance to defray the cost of having them hemmed! It's good that you have brands that you like to wear, I also stick to the brands I know and rarely deviate from them.  I think that petite dressing is all about trial and error and rolling with what looks good and getting it in a few different colors per item Smiley Happy.

I am 5'4 but need petite pants but regular tops because I have short inseam.  The rise is always a problem because of that, but my biggest problem is that QVC had apparently decieded a petitie inseam is 28, which is is not for the majority of petites unless they walk around in high heels all the time.   I refuseto have pants hemed pants because of the extra money it costs in time and cash just because a vendor decieds that they need to cut off short inseamed people from purchasing pats.   If you keep buying they keep doing the same thing
