On November 11, I ordered an item and tried to cancel a few hours later, but was not allowed to as it was processing.  It is now three days later and it is still in process.  I should have been allowed to cancel, and do not believe that something is so far into processing after only a few hours after ordering that it cannot be cancelled.

Usually, if I want to cancel something, it is shortly after buying, and usually because I want to buy something else, and I don't make a habit of it.

Sometimes when you get this message, you can talk with a Customer Service person and they can actually cancel it for you.  Don't always listen to the recording.

Also, if you order food or something that doesn't come thru QVC it's different. They send the order direct to the vendor, and can't always cancel it.  BUT again, if you talk with Customer Service, they can and will try to do so, and sometimes succeed.

The lesson here is to make up one's mind before ordering.  When ordes are shipped from vendors, the orders get transmitted to them immediately, and it make cancelling almost (if not) impossible.  Getting upset because you changed your mind is not QVC's fault.

Sometimes that happens when you first place your order.  I've found that if I go back hours later, it works.

@Perkup  I called customer service first, but no luck.  It never used to be this way.  I could always cancel within a few hours, sometimes days.

I have found this to be true as well so if it ever happens again, wait a few hours and give it another try.

Sometimes you listen to a promotion about an item and think, yup, that's it.... so you go to order it before they're gone (that's the push, hurry, hurry and buy it).  While you're still watching them describe the item, you hear a couple of things that were not mentioned when you decided to go ahead and order. That missing criteria were enough to make you decide that it was NOT the item/s for you and now you want to cancel.... yes, sometimes it's gone into process immediately and you can't cancel, sometimes even after only an hour or two!

Solution?  Put the item in your cart until you've thought about it, seen the whole presentation so you're not surprised by anything (hopefully) and you've got a good hour before they drop it from your cart.....  it's held for you to buy but only for a limited time frame and it's been a good solution for me.  And surprisingly, I'm spending less money doing it this way......Woman Wink

I have learned the hard way too. I have called back and cancelled within 5 to 10 minutes and no way, once ordered that is it, at least with me it has been, and yet sill not shipped out for another 4 to 5 days. Thanks for bringing this up.

Put on check until you think about it and read the reviews.  With the Q always giving EP now, you can go back and get that if you decide to go ahead with order, so you don,t miss out on a EP item like before.
