All of the hosts, men and women alike, just go into QVC mode the minute they step on set!! All the women are trying to outdo the others. They are dressing up more, sometimes to the point of ridiculousness! They all say the same things, they are all XS, even if its true or not etc etc!! Hosts strutting around the set instead of thinking about the customers. We want relevant information. No personal stories about their over-achieving family members, no more sales tactics that are obviously untrue a lot of the time.
I want to see hosts like Kathy Levine again, Steve Colantuno, Mike Reid. Anything could happen, and often did, but they weren't clones!! We now have the female hosts, obviously having practised their facial poses, except Antonella, who is still trying to be herself!! Everything is becoming so contrived, I just hate to watch much anymore!! Some hosts could be really nice if they werent obviously trying to be someone else.
Sorry QVC, but I dont like the changes!!

I find they all have their own personalities. I don't get the clone thing. You should not watch something you don' enjoy.

I totally agree with you. It's as if there is one male and one female prototype - then they clone them.
All the presentations are so phony now, and everyone is trying to be a TV personality instead of just presenting the products will all necessary information.
its difficult to listen any more. If I do watch, it is usually without sound.
I disagree about Antonella - that phony smile and laugh is getting pretty hard to watch too.
Too bad the products just can't sell themselves

I imagine the powers that be at QVC have figured out a formula that works for them and that's how they want things done. The "good old days" are gone forever and so is Kathy Levine. Their goal is to sell, sell, sell, not to entertain us, unfortunately.
Some of the hosts are too expressive of their own personalities to the point where they cross the line of propriety and good taste. Some have been downright obscene but to mention it might be unkind...or something.

Ha ha, I noticed they all say they're in the XS, too! Most I believe it, but there's a few older hosts getting thick that say that & I've got to wonder who are they fooling?

I don't see it that way at all. I see each host's differing personalities and styles more than ever. In the days of Kathy Levine, there were only a few who showed any sign of their personalities and the rest were Stepford hosts with cookie cutter fashions, hair, french manicures and voice tone.

"Here's the deal........" Just heard one of the new woman say that.

What is the perfect host to one person will not be to another. We all have people we like better than others. Each person brings something different to the plate. That may be annoying to one and interesting to another.
I think this is where, in life, you just have to live and let live. QVC is out to sell and make a profit. If they think someone is keeping them from doing that....I am sure it will be addressed. I also think that those who shop at QVC....or at least many of them....like the "family" atomosphere they portray. It sets them apart from other shopping channels and places like Amazon.

I think they absolutely do allow the hosts to be themselves. There's a huge difference between Mary Beth and Shawn and between Jane and David. If QVC were not allowing hosts to be themselves, they would all be the same.
They are ALL sales people and so they are ALL selling. That's their job. I train people and sometimes work with colleagues who do the same training I do. We all say a lot of the same things because that's what works and the words are part of the job. But that doesn't mean we all say them exactly the same way, or dress the same, or interact with people in the same way.
Every host on QVC has a distinct style and that's precisely because QVC allows them to be themselves.

Not that it bothers me at all, but I have noticed that so many of the hosts now put their index finger on their chin while they are listening to the vendor speak or while they are talking themselves. It's like the new thing to do.
