You don't attract new customers by alienating existing customers.  To think otherwise is so naive from a going-concern business perspective.

A company can provide benefits and incentives to both.  They don't need to be identical.  But you can't completely ignore your existing base.

I hope that this backfires explosively.  Not currently being a shareholder, I'm good.

So, I guess you are hoping they go out of business?  I enjoy watching and hope that doesn't happen.

I will not order from QVC again!  I am a good customer, and yet I will not receive free shipping until 1/31/23.  Only NEW customers will receive this....WHOSE DUMB IDEA IS THAT.

OMG i felt the same when I heard it.  Almost 25 year plus customer and they give nothing.  In the beginning they would give EP as an incentive.  Christmas card with offers.

Now your lucky to get no shipping.

It is a slap in the face to us oldtimers.

My orders are nothing much anymore, just what I need from the vendors I like that I need not want.

@pupwhipped

Your post is true on so many levels.

I'm disgusted with QVC right now, as many of us are.  However, I keep shopping with them and I don't really know why.

What you said in your post about being a QVC "addict" and how you've tried to shop elsewhere, but failed is EXACTLY what QVC is banking on.

They KNEW loyal customers would be upset.  They KNEW they would get backlash.  They KNEW they would get an inordinate amount of angry emails, phone calls, and threads posted on here and on Facebook.  They KNEW IT ALL, but somehow they went through with this completely unfair incentive anyway.

Why?  Because they ALSO knew that their loyal fan base has a hard time giving them up.  They figured we'd be angry for a while, but that we'd get over it.  They figured we'd keep watching and recording and we'd be tempted to buy anyway.  They know that their loyal customers let many things slide when it comes to all of the unfair things they do.  They count on their loyal customers to forgive and forget.

That's why they keep doing what they do... and getting away with it.

They didn't only KNOW it, they COUNTED on it.

( People will be upset, but they'll get over it).

And likely, we will!!!!

Just the initial anger being expressed....but in my own case, I will continue to check all the other sites that deliver to my door before I purchase....like everyone else does today if they REALLY are concerned about free shipping and bargains etc....

Doesn't make sense, but some executive must have signed off on it. Can we assume old time customers will occasionally be offered a free shipping day?

So......when the sales hosts say, "I should buy three of this top, it is the only order of the year", I will remind myself that placing the order will cost me $10.50  and new customers, ZERO.  As a long time customer, why is there prejudice against me?  So, I get to pay a premium as compared to a new customer for the next 3 months or 15 orders?  Hey Q, I could use a price break as well as everyone else.  What the heck are you thinking?  And, it does not go unnoticed that for me this disparity is offered during the peak holiday buying season.  Another insult.

I am a top 100 reviewer, evidence I purchase a fair share.  This decision will prompt me to reach out to other vendors for the same product.  Q, you should have thought this through more carefully.  How about a reward system like Starbucks where I earn my discount?  Oh ya, that would mean a major computer upgrade.

15 orders x $3.50 = $52.50

@Tshirtgal

I'm wondering what the 15 purchases actually are.

Do they mean 15 items in total ship for free?

Or, do they mean that 15 total purchases/Orders (with several items in one order) ship for free?

I feel like it's the second one. If it is, new customers will be saving MUCH more money than you think.

This "new customers only" promotion is a HUGE slap in the face to those of us who are long time, dedicated, VERY good customers!  Whomever devised this ridiculous promo needs a Business 101 lesson.....it is far more important and cost effective to keep your existing customers happy than focus SOLELY on recruiting new customers.  I am so very angry and insulted by this really, really dump QVC promotion.  NO respect and NO regard for your existing customers!!!!!
