@CABRIT How do you want them to act, uninterested?  It's their job to sound excited so you will want to purchase.  Mute the sound, turn the channel.

I didn't project what i meant , I would like Leah and Shawn do a personality switch like Freaky Friday , can you imagine Leah saying some of the things Shawn says.On one show   Leah said to Shawn , in my 25 years , i have never done a show in my bare feet.I like  them both , just totally different personalities.

The hosts  are probably told to create excitement. It's a sales job and creating excitement is a part of it.

Actually, that's not strong enough!  Some of the hosts were shrieking, oohing & aaghing,

OMG etc etc!  Jennifer calmed down, but Mary, Carolyn were over the top!  I know I could change the channel etc, but I'm under the weather, so I've been watching the fashion. Gary Goben of Denim & Co could teach them all a lesson!  And finally, what's with all the fawning over vendors?  OK, I've complained enough, but I've been a customer s8nce 1989, so I've seen the best over the years.  Where's Leah today, she wouldn't behave that way?

@CABRIT I agree.  I've seen Denim and Company before with Carolyn and know about the squirrels, but this show was so over the top that I probably watched for about half an hour before I lost patience and turned it off.  I turned it on when she was describing which sweaters various listeners would wear when walking their dogs.  The squirrels made multiple entrances  . . . with the high pitched voice.  And to top it off, she described a conversation she and Gary might have as friends.  Seriously.  All in that short time I was watching.

I generally like Mary but she was just over the top yesterday, and it was just basic Q stuff.  I know that is what they have to do

@Tadaki @CABRIT  Agree with both of you.  I'm getting just as tired of Carolyn and her constant mentioning of all her animals and the stupid squirels as I am of Jane Tracey's constant mentioning her daughters.  Knock it off!   Really miss Leah and her professionalism, but she deserves her vacation.

You and me both.  I could never do it in a million years.  I would feel really foolish putting on all that over the top fake enthusiasm.

And I am sure they are instructed to do it because you see it all the time.  Hosts start out being lower key and slower paced in their delivery, and then gradually they amp up their presentations, louder and faster talking, more energy, etc.

There was a thread about a host not long ago saying how calm she was, not interrupting hosts, etc and I agreed.  Then a couple of weeks later I was watching her and her delivery was so fast-paced, it made her sound a little nervous and out of breath.  I guess she's been undergoing some training to do that.  A shame, really.

@CABRIT

Maybe it's something in the water there at the Q studios because it has been spreading among most of the hosts. The few who are still in control of themselves and being professional probably bring their own bottled water from home.
