Note: SORT BY TOPIC START DATE/LATEST POST DATE

I posted this in Community Chat, too.  Hoping perhaps some of us can start threads in a couple of forums with specific tips that might be useful.

We have an option which allows us to choose the sort sequence of topics in a forum (among other choices).

Look at the top of the threads, to the right of "NEW MESSAGE."

The "Options" drop-down menu allows us to:

"Sort by Latest Post Date"

or

"Sort by Topic Start Date"

There are other options, too, but these 2 might help some of us find the threads with the most recent comments.

I wish that option was available when viewing "All Forum Topics."

Thanks for the tip.

I struggled with that as well.  It's not available on the individual "threads".  It's there at the top of each individual forum (ie beauty, fashion, suggestion box).

dooBdoo, maybe you might have an answer to one of my questions.  I see the message number and "views" to the left of posts.  But the number of views makes no sense.  Do you know of any way or any place where we can see the total number of times a thread has been viewed, like we could before?  What am I missing, or not understanding?  Can you help?

Hi, @kittymomNC!  I hadn't even noticed those 'til you mentioned it.

It's only a guess, but it appears to me it's the number of views that particular post received.

So, if that's the case, the number of "views" shown on the original post would be the same as thread views (since some people only see the original post, before any replies are added).

Thanks for responding, dBd! I thought about that, but in looking at individual posts, I thought what is it counting?  But I just went and started at the beginning of one, and now it all makes sense!  A light bulb moment!  Apparently whenever anyone opens the thread, it counts them up to the point of the last post.  So the first posts have many more views than the last ones.  And you're right, the OP post starting the thread is the correct count of total views.  I just wish it would show on the thread listing.  Thank you!

Another question for our computer guru?  Do you know what the numbers under "New" (between Replies and Author) on the thread titles means? I think my head is spinning-- the answer may be as obvious as the nose on my face!
