I was born and raised in Chicago and I say "go head" never go ahead.

lol. I guess everyone has that "thing" that bothers them. For me, what drives me crazy is when people pronounce height (ending with a t!), heighth. Seriously, drives me nuts! Happens so often, as if people aren't aware of the actual spelling. I can't point tho to anyone on qvc who has done this - just a general statement of something that would be no big deal to some people, but to me it's a real issue!
@moonandthestars both are correct, one old English ( heighth and not used so much anymore) and the other ( height ) morden English and the "t" should be pronounced.

I can go 2 hours south or north and hear entirely different accents, dialects, sayings, and pronunciation of words.
Big deal. It doesn't affect my or anyone else's lives.
I'm sure people in another part of the country think OP's sayings are wrong too.
My dad has PhDs in English and History and taught his whole life. While Dad taught us proper grammar, he said we should never judge others based on pronunciation, grammar, etc etc. Not everyone has the same education or aptitude and every region has its own way of saying things.
Accept people the way they are and you will have a lot less anst in your life.

@Kachina624 Close, but no cigar. It's usually "go downa shore."

There was a thread about "realtor" having a extra syllable....I can't move my tongue from the "l" sound to a "t" sould without and extra "?" in the word. Can you?

I actually find it hard to mispronounce realtor. I have to make a conscious effort to do it.
