I think it's important for anyone on tv to be able to use proper grammar.  I wish they would hold a host training class and refresh the hosts on what they should have learned in 3rd grade on such things as the use of "I" and "me" and other basic rules.

What do you expect?  She comes from a region where people (lots of people) routinely "go down the shore".

8 years ago I moved to upstate NY, but lived 61 years in NEW JERSEY, and yes, every wekend of the summer our north Jersey selves used to "go down the shore" .

I didn't know that not everyone used this phrase untill I was in my late teens and found out that it is unique to Jersey. I'm still not quite sure what people think is wrong with the wording...I mean, what do people from other states say..."going to the beach"? okaaaay.

The highest concentration of people in New Jersey live in the north & central part of the state, and the good beaches are on the mid - southern coast, so trips to the beach usually involve driving SOUTH...thus "DOWN the shore."

I will always rise to the defense of my lifelong home, because you can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl. LOL

I used to watch HSN a lot. But I don't watch it now, so I don't know if this host still does this or even if she is still there. But a certain female host ALWAYS would say "Look it" instead of "Look at it". For some reason this always stood out in my mind.

I'm from Pittsburgh, and we have a lot of weird sayings and phrases.  Everyone always knows where I'm from when I speak...hahaha.

It's not Go down the shore, it's Down the shore. If you are going to criticize, at least get it right.

@annie57 Can you give an example?  Instead of someone saying "we're going down the shore" they just say "we're down the shore"???

@PatsShoes

I was raised in Philly and yes, we too would go down the shore.  When I moved to Delaware the shore was no more lol.  It was down the beach.
