@Mz iMac

I understand that Google is a search engine but also Gmail, apps, etc. 🙂 For those of use who are less fortunate and unable to afford the exorbitant prices Apple charges, we use cheaper Android products. And no, I don't mean the high-end Samsung devices. Thus we have to contend with Google.

For those interested, some of the ways to get away from Google are:

* Switch Search Engines
* Stop Using the Chrome Browser ...which is why I recommended Firefox
* Delete your Gmail account
* Dump Android
* Delete all Google apps from your iPhone
* Purge other Google hardware
* Don't use Waze or Nest Products

I rebooted so we'll see. I get the number of notifications I have. It's the alert that's missing. It's not the end of the world. I'll survive. Just really wanted to see if anyone had the same problem-o. I'm surmising they don't! You may be right.

I don't get alerts (notifications) all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. That's how Q's systems work.

I'm not clearing my cookies. I never have in the years I've been on the computer. I'd like to get off Google chrome but I really don't know how.

If you don't clear your history, cookies, and cache on a regular basis, you have a huge number of people, companies, advertisers, etc etc, tracking every move made on your computer. It's basic computer knowledge.

It also puts your contacts at risk since many scams get those lists when tracking you.

I clear all of mine every week or two.

Scammers, advertisers, viruses, and companies love it when they can track you.

It's easy to get away from google. Most computers offer choices in their settings. Or you can download another search engine and use it.
