New nickname?!

Why is it that every time I want to ask a question about a product I am prompted to chose a new nickname?  What is the point?  It is keeping me from asking questions and purchasing.  I have no intention of coming up with a new nickname once a week.

@Bookplate   It's just a glitch they can't seem to fix.  When you receive the prompt, just put in your usual user name written exactly as it's in the system.
