Neck openings are getting too big in QVC brand Plus Sizing. Some of the QVC brands, Denim &Co, for example, have neck openings for larger plus sizes that are way larger than customers need. There are many remarks about this in the Reviews. Just because a person gains weight does not mean their neck or head grows by such a huge amount of inches.

@Mindy D I've noticed it at other places, too, Woman Within, Roamann's, etc. And it's been happening for a long time, at least at those places. My special dislike is V-necks that are so wide my bra straps show!

They are that way in some of the smaller sizes as well.  I can't stand having my bra strap showing or too low.  I do not want to layer a tank or cami under all my tops.  

I have to be careful and place close attention to tops.  But I am shopping more local anyway.  Prices just too high.  Everything is 10.00 or more higher than last year for same item.

I get it and everything is going up but I am just not going to do it plus pay for shipping on top of it.

I just purchased a couple items on Lands End on sale and free shipping so putting those away until fall.  Fit is spot on too.

Seems like the logical solution would be to shop and choose more carefully.  You can clearly see the neckline both in pictures and on a live model before making a selection.  The are hundreds of tops with very high necklines, even high V-necks.

Not always.  I agree that if there is video, it should be evident.  But if there is no video and one is dependent on the photo; it is not often clear.  Many times the models have long hair which interferes with the view of the neckline, and sometimes photos of dark garments lack definition.

@Bookplate I agree with @Kachina624 . Not only do you have multiple photos, there is almost always a video. Very few models have long hair that continues to hide the entire neckline throughout the video. In addition, there is a ton of information regarding garment measurements. The description will also state "follows the line of the body", "semi-fitted", etc. Along with all that information you can read reviews. Generally, if there is an issue with an item you can count on the posters to let you know. And as others mentioned, there are many options. Just searching QVC for Tops and Blouses there are 4,694. If you truly have a preference in your neckline, take your measurements and follow the "garment measurements" as I find these to be most accurate. QVC is one of the very few online retailers that give garment measurements.

I am cognizant of necklines, sleeve length etc, have my preference and shop accordingly. The first three posters were only sharing their observations, nothing more.

Often models wearing clothing in photos have had the garment gathered and pinned to fit better. This happens for all sizes.

Unless you try the garment on in person, you take a chance of returning.  I buy most of my tees and shirts from Christopher and Banks.  I know that if I get my regular size, it will fit.  Their garment sizes are consistent.  Their tees are stellar...I love them.

I swear manufacturers and designers think heavier people have necks the size of football players. I'm fluffy in the middle but not around the neck. Drives me crazy.

@cjm61 @I read the garment measurements every time I'm interested in a garment. That's what I'm basing my post on. The neck openings  keep increasing as sizes go up, but this is not necessarily what most in larger sizes need for a neck opening because most women's heads and necks are not enlarging as much as they gain weight. There is anthropometric data to support this.
