When you are picking models for different things, please pick models with very nice nails and make sure they have nice manicures. There are some models that shouldn't be used for jewelry modeling.

Modern TV technology reveals a lot of flaws, especially in close up shots. I'll tell you that the best nails on any shopping channel are Sharon Scott's on JTV. I guess impeccable is the word for hers.

Although she's not a model, I've noticed that Sue Clifton's nails are always nice and manicured. Does justice to her emerald wedding ring set.

I think not only the models should have neatly manicured nails...but the Hosts....both male and female....need to be nicely manicured, too....
I really dislike when the male Hosts do jewelry with scruffy looking nails...as though just came in from their garden or working on their car....come on guys...show some pride....

And my pet peeve is hosts/models wearing garish nail polish, and having overly long nails when presenting jewelry.

I agree with you ....there is nothing more pleasant to see is well manicured nails that are short...with a clear polish or a pale pale pale pink....

Funny you should mention S Scott...(to me) her nails turn up and the gel (whatever) manicure seems to enhance it...her nails just grow out that way...Just my opinion.

A few days ago Josie Maran was doing a presentation with her argan whipped body creams and sticking her fingers into every jar in such a messy and sloppy way, and what made it worse was that her manicure was an unsightly, chipped mess. Come on, you don't see or check out your nails before going on air? You can be dressed to the 9's, but if your nails are a mess it's all for nothing...
IMO, JM is pretty, but just looks like a "hot mess"...

I don't think I've ever seen a model with unsightly nails. As for the hosts, the less noticable the nails, the better the product shows. The object of the game is to sell merchandise, not nails.
