I am a 66yr old female, recently diagnosed with arthritis in hips & lower spine.

Orthopedist wants me exercising, building muscle strength, for joint support.

After watching Marie Osmonds "Body Gym", I purchased it. I love it BUT .....

Being a short senior citizen & a bit unsteady at times, I discovered that the foam covering the stretch band is wide for my doing the standing exercises and also makes me off balance at times. I "may" cut it off. May I suggest that in the future you make it so that it can be removed & replaced for the different excerises!!??

Try and wear a pair of shoes that help with your balance. I find it easier to use with the padding with shoes on versus wearing slippers. You also can slide the padding to one side so you just step only on the cord. I also keep a stool or chair behind me in case I get off balance. If you cut the padding off you may wish you didn't so save it. I just love mine. I just got done using it. I bought the newest version even though I have the first version. I do it on my own sometimes and use the newest DVD some days. It is always handy to use. I also have a Total Gym and Tony Little's Gazelle Glider but use Marie's Bodygym while watching TV.

Good luck and I hope this works well for you.

I've been working out with the body gym for a few weeks.  I like it.  But, the foam tubing is annoying when doing the lower body exercises.  I guess it is there as a cushion when sitting doing upper body.  It does seem as though it has any other purpose.

I have the Body gym and love it for the Upper Body exercises. The Lower Body exercises, not so much. They're difficult to do. I do the side leg lifts, but the back leg lifts are a flop for me. I'm now using the Pilates bands for the lower body and the Body gym for the Upper body. It's great for increasing muscle mass where women need it.
