I have favorite brands I shop for on QVS. None of them are made in the USA. I will think twice before purchasing them in the future. Let's keep our mills busy and keep manufacturing at home.
We have few, if any, mills and mass manufacturing is not done in homes. Your ideas are impractical. There's a reason most manufacturing, especially of clothing, is done overseas.
Of course I know why manufacturing, especially clothing, is done over seas! That is not my point. In our current situation, shouldn't we think of employing Americans and keep our business here. It would only strengthen our economy. And, I never implied that the work was done in homes! Look at the bigger picture.
If we had the facilities, which we don't, it would cause a significant increase in prices because labor would be much higher. I'm not sure we have a workforce in the US where women (mostly) are willing to be sewing machine operators. We have been conditioned to expect more.

I agree, but we may have to change our thinking in the case of vital things like ventilators.
