Many people are geninely confused about why certain links they post are deleted while other, seemingly very similar link posts are allowed to remain.
People read the Rules about what can and what can't be posted, but they tend to be vague and seemingly contradictory, so just a re-post of the existing statement wouldn't help.
It would be very helpful if the moderators could post in the forum what SPECIFICALLY will get a link post deleted.
Is there someing that most people wouldn't have a clue about that is because of how the linked site operates/does business, and not the site per se, that gets links deleted? Is there a list of common sites you will always delete? Do the moderators search the forum for links to delete or do they only delete a link if it's reported?
I think it's obvious that links should not be posted to sites for purchase of merchandise that the poster could have a vested interest in, etc. but much of the rest of the "rules" don't seem all that logical and do not seem to be applied evenly. Clarification in plain English would help.

@Moonchilde I looked at the standards and it says
no links for any site that the Q feels violates the Q
Standards.

Which is waaaaay too vague. That could then mean any link they think they'd rather not see posted for any one of a dozen reasons that might or might not be accurate, if it's just based on what a moderator "thinks."
I didn't ask the question for myself, as I rarely post a link. But people seem to genuinely not want to break the rules and want to know why some links are removed. Direct links to something for sale, I think most people get, but it's a very gray area.
If there is a common list of sites that are no-nos, that would at least be helpful, if not popular ;-(

A few years ago, I got a virus on my computer. Because the only links I'd ever clicked on come from here, I just quit clicking links here totally. I certainly couldn't prove anything, but the only virus I've had in the many years I've been on the Internet was that one.
I don't even care how QVC decides which links to delete --none of them are ever going to be useful for me.
I'm just glad they get rid of as many as they already do.
