I have not had this issue happen with LnL, but I have had the issue happen with other plastic storage containers when using in the microwave (usually with some type of food containing oil or grease). I think it happens when foods are heated to a really hot temperature, so maybe watching a bit more closely, microwaving for less time at a lower setting, or stirring freuqnetly may help.

Personally they shouldn't eve say it's microwavable. While I still have a lot of it, any I've used in the microwave were ruined IMO and got tossed.

I love my L&L compared to anything else that I have used. Depending on the power of your microwave and what you are heating it will pit sometimes. I notice that soup or leftovers that have grease/oil will cause this. I just repurpose these containers to the craft room or the garage. They work great for all those little extra parts/bits that are attached to other products. I still feel that I get a good value for my $ from this brand so it works just fine for me.

I believe its the microwave! My husband was putting them in the microwave, and they did not look good.We decided ...no more microwave. Also,I hand wash them. They are no real trouble and I think it makes them hold up longer.I love LocknLock .I don't know what I did without them!
