I think a small prestige "concierge" collection by Louis Dell'Olio for QVC, in addition or as a sub category to his normal Linea line, would be FABULOUS!  I would spend more per item if it were something extraordinary in materials and design.

In addition to classy casual and work clothes, I would also love some evening/formal items, tops, jackets, pants, skirts, etc.  I vainly search for dressier things every year at this time (many events coing up soon and through the holidays) and lament that presently Louis doesn't have those kinds of clothes sold here, although I have worn current Linea to black tie events, made them work.

But mainly I would like to see offerings of silk, velvet, linen for summer, wool, suede, even cashmere again.  I hoard my Linea silk blouses, wear them now like flowing jackets.  I'd like more of his embroidery, it was outstanding.  Embellished and luxe items are everywhere in the fashion magazines and oh how I would love just ONE new decadent piece from Louis!

For an interpretation of these styles, pair them with jeans, cargoes, denim and other very casual pieces and another market could be reached.

An expanded fashion jewelry line could be part of such a plan, again, very boutique and special.  His pieces are extraordinary, some of them iconic and absolute show stoppers.

I would think QVC would capitalize on his talent to gain customers who are searching for these kinds of things, please those customers he has, and add to the status of the company.

I agree that q could use some real luxury designs and fabrics. That is one area they haven't explored and Louis would be the man for that.

Sounds to me like you ought to be shopping Bob Mackie instead of Linea.  His things come the closest to what you say you want.  He had to discontinue his silks because it became so expensive that it would have been beyond the price point the average Q buyer would pay.  His use of color and quality of embroidery are unsurpassed.

QVC knows who their customers are and what they'll pay.  They aren't going to stock items that the average shopper won't buy.  There are threads all over the boards complaining of high prices as it is.

@Kachina624

I have a pair of plain white cropped pants from Bob Mackie, very nice, but the rest of his line is not what I am looking for at all.  Perhaps I did not communicate very well.

If you look at the fall fashion magazines there are amazing coats, sweaters, etc., with embroidery and wonderful details that Louis has done when at Anne Klein and has done here in the past and could do beautifully again for a certain market.  It would appeal to a customer who is looking for couture inspired "very special" clothing, perhaps for events or just to add to casual pieces.   And....not all poly either, or rayon/span.

Louis can design and cut clothing so well, knows all the detailing that is part of this, and his colors are terrific.

I guess QVC has G.I.L.I. for that specific market, but while I do like and appreciate this line, I was looking for Boutique Linea!

THe type of buyer who would be attracted to,these types,of designs and fabrics is not QVC's target market.  WHen the Linea line did carry items of this nature they only attracted a small (for QVC) number of dedicated buyers.  WHy would you think that would suddenly change?  THere are plenty of other B&M stores and web vendors for these type items.  QVC would no more start carrying something like this then Neiman's would start carrying Quacker Factory.

Linea Luxe. Works for me! I would love it because his aesthetic fit me to a t and I already willingly pay real money at other stores for clothes that are well made and last.

I'm sure QVC could find a way to squeeze a nice margin out of higher priced garments. Unlike GILI, this brand has a built in audience who have demonstrated that they will clean out the inventory of 150.00 trenches and 150.00 necklaces, so I think it would sell.

All that said, I can just here it now: wool is itchy, linen wrinkles, silk has to be dry cleaned, cashmere pills, it's hard to buy the right size when there's no stretch, too expensive, and on and on it goes.

Fine fabrics need care. And, they come at a premium cost. Would there be a large enough audience? Dunno, but if I were the Q, I would do a bit of experiemening!

It wouldn't have to be all fine fabrics with no stretch.  I like blends, Louis does great poly blends now, so any of those special fabrics he finds would be great, with some core pieces of wool, silk, etc.  Or blends!  I am flexible! I'm sure some compromise and working with the buyers will  work be needed, but I just don't buy liquid knit or any of the other myriad polys that are standard here now.

Indeed, the Bob Mackie pants I have are cotton with a tiny bit of stretch.  They are lovely and are at least 8 years old and look like new and fit beautifully, still a classic and in style.

My closet of course is already predominantly Linea, styles and fabrics that last and last, or are keepers but not worn often, just because they are AMAZING and come out once a year or so.

Who says QVC can't add a line like this and have it succeed?  There are many of us out here who are starved for this kind of clothing and jewelry.  We already love Linea and that design esthetic, and would support this.  No, it wouldn't be high volume, just a little quiet corner of QVC that would be this wonderful boutique.

I hate to shop in real stores for some reason now, but I have to and I do, but to shop here instead of Nordstrom's for these items, heaven.

Linea is many levels above Bob Mackie.

This is a great idea! Thank you for taking the time to outline your suggestion and I will ensure our buyers are aware of your feedback. Also, Louis does have a very interactive facebook page so you might want to post this to him directly as well.

Thanks again!

Yay!!!  Your idea/suggestion is moving toward the right people . . . I just hope that it goes beyond "buyers" and to the right QVC people with the power to create a boutique collection - who have the foresight and vision to see what a great idea this is . . . a "boutique collection"  could & would elevate all the clothing designers and QVC's revenue would soar.
